"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Ok, I've been 100% clueless my whole life about this kind of stuff, and I want you guys to hear how this sounds.

I've just recently started to become more confident, been going out more, actually hanging out with people, and I can actually comfortably hold a conversation with a girl.

One girl I've started talking to lately, we'll call her SH. SH seems really cool. The first time we ever really hung out, she drove me home when I was hammered. Since then we've talked almost every day. I'm in one of her classes, and she sits right in front of me.

The things that make me think she likes me:
-constant eye contact (whenever we're talking there's just a constant eye contact)
-she's always pulling her desk up to mine, even when it's not group work we're doing
-a couple times, when she came into the room and I was already there, she didn't sit down and turn around, but sat in her desk backward, so she was facing directly at me

Up until a little while ago, I had no idea eye contact meant anything, so I'm kind of lost.

Sound promising?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

YES.
Always assume she does.

On top of that, you pointed out the examples required, and asked us if you're clueless.

Well sweet fvcking jesus, duh!

Ask her out somewhere, or homework, or some crap like that. You're young, you need to do these things.
