Was there something illegal about it? He was paying them to take pictures of them, which made them professional models I guess. From what I gathered, he was putting together a portfolio, and even had the thought of possibly making a side career of it. He liked to pick strippers, which made them more likely to tolerate the sexual aspects.

Yes. One, if you get caught with a woman lying about their age (yea, I know, shocking), you're screwed. Just look at Joe Francis. Plus, in some localities, that is illegal. Why do you think porn is now really only filmed in Miami, FL, Nevada or Los Angeles, CA? The reason being is obscenity laws prevent this for commercial and sometimes even private use. You have someone file a complaint that you filmed them nude or having sex w/o their consent (even if they did at the time), you are up sh!ts creek.
