I've always seen my hair stylist rubbing the wax on his palms before applying it on my hair.

However if I do that, the wax, gel or whatever ends up being spread out as if I was putting on some hand cream and isn't sticky anymore?!

Hence I can't get on to style my hair

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

What??
I've always put the gel/wax/whatever on my fingers, not my palm. After spreading it out properly on the fingers of hand 1, I rub the fingers of my other hand against the fingers that have the stuff on it, and voila... I can begin :p

If your hair product doesn't stick, go get some new stuff... it's supposed to stick!
