Yeah maybe in the late 90s and early 2000s it was like that, but the landscape is different now. The normal way you attract a woman is by simply meeting them in your social environment, at which point they become attracted to you by the way you are (trying hard not to use “personality” or “character”). Since the rise of technology—and social media in particular—talking to people online has become a normal part of the socialization process. It’s simply what the modern social environment is. Removing it from your field of play kneecaps you in the social stratosphere, and I say this as someone who’s largely given up social media myself.

OP, I don’t think I love the idea of your date being within your gym. Maybe if it were exclusively your grounds but it isn’t. With that no longer an option I would suggest just mentioning that you’re going a few different times and I would obviously throw the one on that you most typically see each other. Run a different program than you guys are used to. Trip her up just a hair nothing more than just a bit of nonverbal bragging on your part. Have a great time. Feel it out from there

I've had multiple gym approaches in the past and none of them amounted to anything, in fact they all lead to a ton of unnecessary drama for me. I'm not saying this to put you down, it's just an environment where you need to tread very carefully because it can easily become incredibly awkward or even a problematic situation for you.

As @Divorced w 3 mentioned, I think you should try to spend time with this woman OUTSIDE of the gym environment as soon as possible. By sticking with just the gym you are setting yourself up to be "gym friend zoned", where she only really interacts with you in that environment but where it doesn't lead to beyond that. In a scenario like this, she'd probably start looking at you as like a gym buddy or lifting partner and not specifically as a potential dating option. I'd try to set something up with her outside of the gym where you can spend time together one on one before getting yourself into this weird place with her.

Many topics in here about asking number and making dates, Instagram is nothing, just another of many dudes in her DMs, that's not trolling, that's just stating facts, and the fact is that he's being in this forum for almost 10 years he should know better that asking Instagram and texting on it is a way of being scared of rejection, I know cause I was like thwt, and many of the guys in here were. Still, girls genuinely do not give a sh*t how much you can lift. A solid bench for a woman is 135lbs, and for men is 225+. Everything you lift is heavy to them.

She may reply to a story of mine or I may reply to one of hers it just helps build rapport and familiarity and probably why she's now comfortable enough to train with me
