"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

So I talked with the girl I had been dating. We're done, and while some of you will say since she had issues it's a good thing to be done, I am the one who screwed up. In talking with her I learned something about myself and I am f***ing pissed.

Her "issues" stem from shutting off emotionally when she is putting herself in a situation where she will give herself emotionally -- fear of loss or getting hurt or something. She's working on resolving this and it has caused her prior relationships to either end or not even get going.

She and I were on a date two weeks ago and it was going really well. She was touching me, having a good time, etc. Then, at dinner, she suddenly shut off. I remember thinking to myself what just happened? Tonight, when talking with her, we talked about this -- I didn't do anything wrong at dinner she just shut off emotionally. It is her issue and it wasn't anything under her conscious control. It just happened. Note that it also means she actually had high interest for me -- it's a defense mechanism for when she really likes a guy.

After sensing it I pushed her on it. I tried to hold her hand -- she held mine but was just kind of going along for the ride. Back at her place she was the opposite of how she was before we left to go to dinner. Rather than playing cool like a DJ I pushed her -- I showed too much interest and tried to kino her, then started asking her what was going on, where do we stand, telling her we should be moving forward, etc. Rather than just being confident and cool I pushed her and, especially with how she was feeling at the time, it really turned her off. I should have just said it's getting late I'm going home... and gone ghost.

We continued to go out but I could feel the damage that I had done. I pushed her last night about where we were in the relationship. And today it was over. She's not a ***** or anything and we talked at length about all sorts of things, including what happened between us. And during that discussion I realized, when I had been pushing her (what's going on, where are we, why are you feeling this way, why don't you know how you are feeling, etc.) I had been pushing down her interest level. There is plenty of stuff in the DJ Bible about this, all saying don't do what I was doing.

And it hit me -- three prior relationships I was in ended for this very reason: I pushed when it was obvious that I should have just gone ghost.

Guys, I am really bumming. Yeah, backbreaker will say she had issues NEXT, but the point is I should f'ing have known what I was doing. I should have known to shut up and leave, stop showing interest, and just let her settle her emotions on her own. She had high interest in me which is why she shut down emotionally. Regardless of whatever she's dealing with, I failed as a DJ. I behaved exactly the opposite of how I should have behaved.

And now my heart is paying for it. I'm glad I fully realized how I f*ck things up, but man it's a painful lesson.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK damn I want to punch myself in the face - I remember, before asking her what was going on and saying we should progressing at this point, thinking how should I deal with this weird situation, what would a DJ do? This is killing me.

What would a DJ do? He'd have another woman he'd be texting by now. You need to go NC until you are not feeling this way, and then hopefully she'll contact you.

Nothing you can do now but move on i'm afraid. At least you've realised where you was going wrong now, some people never do.

“The 22 Rules That Flip the Script With Women… And How You Can Use Them Tonight”

Most guys accidentally kill attraction before they even speak. They assume they need a bigger bank account, a better physique, or smoother lines. They miss the point.

Female desire operates on a specific set of psychological triggers.  Break them, and you're invisible. Follow them, and you become magnetic.

I learned this the hard way. Years of freezing up. Getting friend-zoned. Watching other guys walk away with the girl I wanted. Then I discovered a set of 22 simple rules that rewired my entire approach.

i have been going back and forth about bringing up some relationship issues with my current gf lately. trying to decide if i should not say a thing or bring things up as the op did.

we have been hanging out. but i have been noticing that her interest level has been on the low side recently. the last night we got together was last thursday. she was frustrated over some things going on in her life and i think she has been transferring that frustration onto me and the relationship. i have not contacted her since. she has posted a couple of things on my facebook wall in the meantime but i have not responded to them.

i WANT to talk with her and try and resolve some issues, but after reading the op's results when he tried....yikes. i'm thinking maybe i should just lay low and see what happens.

the whole scenario just kind of begs the question(s)...is there EVER a good time to talk about relationship issues/problems? if so, how should one go about it? or is going ghost until things calm down the best way to handle it?

OP, don't despair. She has issues that she is "working" on. Yeah right about the working on part. She repeats history with every guy she dates. Her issues are deep. And you can't fix her.

Could you have done things differently? Sure. Would it have mattered? Maybe it would have lasted for a week or two more.

When you find a normal chick, you'll be glad that this one didn't drag on.
