anyhow, unlesss you are one in a million folks like described above you will not grow an inch after you hit 20-22 even sometimes 16-17... If you wanna make sure, you can go to a doctor, get xrays of your legs and check your growth plates. They will most likely be fused, if not,and if you are rich, you can get hgh..

plus those statistics posted are kind of bullshyt, europeans are much taller(i mean white europeans, not italians, spaniards or greeks) even taller than most americans(again i mean white, most blacks i saw in america were taller while hispanics and asians shorter)In germany, holland and russia most times my head is looking up while talking to someone and I am 1.76(5'9") Plus chinese average 1.73, not likely. While I was doing college in the states most asians I saw was less than 1.70(5.7") .. If they do college in the states, I suppose they are the better off ones.165-167 I can believe not 3 inches taller

Way to go. I quote from scientific studies, and you're recalling from some obscure recollection from your college days. You're the shining beacon of total objectivity.


Don't you know that our personal prejudices subliminally CONDITION you to only notice what you believe? For example, if a white guy goes out and only focuses on the white girls with black guys (which aren't that many, honest!), that is all he will notice. In his mind, that automatically becomes the "truth" when in fact, only about 3-5 out of a hundred white females are with black men.


The same goes with races and height - if you're preconditioned to notice blacks that are tall and Asians that are short, you will end up ignoring tall Asians and over-counting tall blacks. If you go to Asia, the young men are indeed two inches taller than one might think based on stereotypes. Asian-AMERICANS are noticeably taller than they were 5-10 years ago (I'd say between 5'8" and 5'10" on average, which is pretty much the average for white American males). During my travels in Europe, I saw TONS of Africans who were short and skinny as bones - contrary to the notion that all black men are behemoths. Exceptions can be found EVERYWHERE, and sometimes, just occasionally, the truth utterly *shatters* stereotypes. Just go to Beijing, China, for example. It is a humbling experience for any whiteboy who expects all Asians and Chinese to come up to his chin. A personal example was when I went to Germany. The Northern Germans I met in Germany seemed indeed to be tall (avg height maybe 178-180 cm), but the Southerners were not as tall (173-175cm) - just average.

chinese from northern china are VERY TALL...180 average i suppose.

that is why the statistics show an average of 173cm or so...like those mentioned before...just pay a visit to Beijing and any self proclaimed aryan height will not stand out or even dwaft by most of them...

You're fine how you are, so don't try to be something you're not. Besides, jakethesnake is right on, you are about the average height of what most men are.

The only real upside to being tall is that women love it, and every time another man walks past you they always stand up as straight as possible trying to look taller than you... always a funny sight.

But like I always say, attitude is far more important.

I'm not sure if it has been said already, but you can make yourself look taller by the clothes you wear. Vertical stripes and well fitting clothes, as well as straight-looking clothes such as shirts, suits and blazers (or blazer-style jackets) are particularly good at promoting height. Thick-soled shoes might help a little too. Always avoid baggy clothing and horizontal stripes.

Physically, the only methods of increasing height I've heard of are some primitive, life-endangering procedures that are most definitely illegal.
