grocery store opener

This is an opener I have field tested this past week and the results have been good so far.

You see an HB looking at a grocery item. It could cheese, cereal, a stick of butter...it doesn't matter. As you casually walk by, say "You dont plan on buying that,do you." She will ask why not or something like that. At this point, you can pick up or point to an alternative item and recommend it for whatever reason. You can say that the product she is holding was featured on a 60 minutes (news magazine) special and is about to get recalled. There is a sale on SPAM in isle 3....you get the point.

I met an HB8 blonde doing this routine a couple of days ago and she was very receptive.

Me....You are not going to buy that cheese are you.

Her...I am trying a new Mexican dish and the recipe calls for cheese

Me..In that case, get the chedder instead. Chedder is better.

we both laugh. I see she has sushi in her cart.

Me..No cooking for me tonight ( as I point to my sushi).

Her...I have sushi too.....I like this kind (she shows sushi).

blah...blah...I get number.


I'll do some more testing....but I like it so far.

It's so easy sometimes...

All you have to do is talk about a bunch of meaningless stuff for a few minutes, so that she knows you're not a freak, and then you ask for her number. That's how all my cold approaches go... "blah, blah.. write down your number".

Right. Thanks for the 411 on my life, Darth. I hope you use this tip at the next convention, commenting on how red lightsabers make a sound that is 2 dB higher than the blue ones...

I can't just leave this like this without looking like a troll, so I'll explain myself:

1- I believe this tip is way too plain, and does not elicit attraction in some sort.
2- There is no originality whatsoever about what is said, or the way it is said.
3- The only basis on which fan27 got the number was physical attraction.

You don't ever need canned openers. Just make an observation on your surroundings or on her.

You can even open with something as crude as 'nice melons' if you're in the watermelon section. Just smile.

1)True. It is just a normal conversation, but that's all you need to be successful.

2)Do you need originality in a cold-approach? I would say no.

3)Physical attraction plays a part in every pick-up, but he got her number because he asked for it.

1) Atleast it's something. What would you have done that would be better?

2) If a girl is attracted, has semi-high IL. It doesnt matter.

3) Physical attraction plays a big role. If not the biggest. That's why being a DJ (imo) revolves around self-improvment. Which includes Physical looks; improving one's health and looks, and style. looking sharp and clean. It's part of being a DJ.
