If you see yourself as a high status man and you pick and choose women but find yourself getting drunk and willing to sleep with grenades, that's not congruent. (We've all been desperate so don't be hard on yourself).
If a hot woman is hitting on you in the gym and you are taking it slow yet when you are drunk, you're willing to get rejected by everything that resembles a female at a bar, you're not congruent.
If you post about about being 100% complete yet waste time on porn, reddit, trolling on the internet, and neglecting your career, you are not congruent.
If you do everything it takes to be a Don Juan but have vices like alcohol abuse, you are not congruent.
I'm sure there are times in your life where people are patting you in the back and telling you how cool you are. And you probably did a lot of right things to get to that point. But if you have vices that causes you to take 2 steps forward and 1 step backward, you are not congruent.
Nick Saban, who won 6 national championships in college football described greatness as two things - Do the things you know you are supposed to do, and DON'T do the things you know you are supposed to not to do.
Most of us have no problems doing the right things. But what trips us up is not doing the wrong things.
So our progress looks like the stock market. One minute it's up, the next minute our value takes a nose dive.
There are no secrets to success. It's just really hard to have consistency and discipline. Do you know who has very little athletic ability but only had consistency and discipline and won 7 Superbowls? Tom Brady.
Congruence can only be achieved with the will to improve AND the will to avoid vices.
99% of men have the will to self improve. But only 1% of men have the will to say no to the vices.
Look at all the millionaire athletes with tons of baby mamas, going broke, getting sued by women, etc.
Self improvement is easy.
Self discipline puts you into the 1% of men.
