If you see yourself as a high status man and you pick and choose women but find yourself getting drunk and willing to sleep with grenades, that's not congruent. (We've all been desperate so don't be hard on yourself).

If a hot woman is hitting on you in the gym and you are taking it slow yet when you are drunk, you're willing to get rejected by everything that resembles a female at a bar, you're not congruent.

If you post about about being 100% complete yet waste time on porn, reddit, trolling on the internet, and neglecting your career, you are not congruent.

If you do everything it takes to be a Don Juan but have vices like alcohol abuse, you are not congruent.

I'm sure there are times in your life where people are patting you in the back and telling you how cool you are. And you probably did a lot of right things to get to that point. But if you have vices that causes you to take 2 steps forward and 1 step backward, you are not congruent.

Nick Saban, who won 6 national championships in college football described greatness as two things - Do the things you know you are supposed to do, and DON'T do the things you know you are supposed to not to do.

Most of us have no problems doing the right things. But what trips us up is not doing the wrong things.

So our progress looks like the stock market. One minute it's up, the next minute our value takes a nose dive.

There are no secrets to success. It's just really hard to have consistency and discipline. Do you know who has very little athletic ability but only had consistency and discipline and won 7 Superbowls? Tom Brady.

Congruence can only be achieved with the will to improve AND the will to avoid vices.

99% of men have the will to self improve. But only 1% of men have the will to say no to the vices.

Look at all the millionaire athletes with tons of baby mamas, going broke, getting sued by women, etc.

Self improvement is easy.

Self discipline puts you into the 1% of men.

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

agree. what is the core thing that a man must do to avoid doing the wrong things. it is likely related to why he does those wrong things.

It's interesting you used the words "core thing". It does not get anymore core than self love.

We do these vices because we don't love ourselves enough. We know the consequences, but we do it anyway.

And only when you love yourself can you love someone else.

It's the hardest thing in the world to accomplish. So don't be hard on yourself brother.

The truth is simple but it's hard. So stop seeking for truth. (There hasnt been a damn thing I said that you didn't already know.)

Seek for strength. Super human strength.

i know. something i recently really understood is the chemical impact. the way men feel and do is very connected to internal chemical balance. seeking peace or just to feel ok drives men to do stuff. its possible in many cases to remove the wish for the vices. as the vices simply are a way for the man to feel better right now. it gets much easier to love yourself when your mood is stable and strong.

Reading the OP I'm reminded of a saying I've heard Marines use which is "embrace the suck". If you can find comfort in discomfort, there's little temptation from vices. Not a bad mindset to adopt.
