Most of the time, a layoff demonstrates the incompetence of the organization doing the employee terminations.

It usually isn't a reflection upon the employee in any way.

It is liberating. Often times, the work environment prior to the layoff was terrible.

Do you have any research to back that up? I think it’s normal and necessary for both parties to admit that mistakes were made.

For example, on the employee side, some soul searching to see if that position for any number of reasons (skill set, necessary research into the group compatibility, the business whether it was stable or the personnel practices, etc.).

Im not much of a fan of blame placing. Not if someone is trying to actually move ahead in that segment of their life, anyway.

I encourage you to consider enlisting..it's only a short-term commitment (3 years), which will in return set you up for life.

No civilian job is gonna do that for ya.

Yeah, they do (inactive reserve).

You'll do 3 years active, and you'll get out and spend the next 5 years on inactive reserve (should you decide not to reenlist).

The likelihood of them calling you back is so extremely low, that it ain't worth consideration.

The United States has enough active service members and active reserves (and not to mention potential civilian volunteers), to whereas they have no need to call anyone back into service from inactive reserves.

The inactive reserves is like having an old Abrams tank in your backyard.

You'll probably never need to use it, but it's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

I've been laid off and while it sucked, it also felt strangely liberating. Use it as an opportunity to reload and recalibrate.

Your future self knows how you'll get it done. Your brain won't let your body starve.

You know you've found success before, so you will find it again. Great things await.

Im in a good equilibrium got a job offer but pay is low so gonna pass and applying to more places. I am using this time wisely. Thank you again to everyone in here for the supporting words it really helps and hope you guys all get good karma lol
