Do you have any research to back that up? I think it’s normal and necessary for both parties to admit that mistakes were made.Most of the time, a layoff demonstrates the incompetence of the organization doing the employee terminations.
It usually isn't a reflection upon the employee in any way.
It is liberating. Often times, the work environment prior to the layoff was terrible.
For example, on the employee side, some soul searching to see if that position for any number of reasons (skill set, necessary research into the group compatibility, the business whether it was stable or the personnel practices, etc.).
Im not much of a fan of blame placing. Not if someone is trying to actually move ahead in that segment of their life, anyway.
