How receptive are art festival attendees to being approached and semi-extended conversations? Fitness classes (either as a part of a gym or a standalone studio) often have great ratios. Ratios at fitness classes are usually 2 women to 1 man and sometimes can get as high as 3 to 1 like art festivals. The problem with fitness classes is that women are not very sociable after fitness class ends. It's possible to do approaches after a fitness class but it's inefficient even with the spectacular ratios there.

In my experience they are very receptive they tend have music and booze at these things. Which makes it a fun loose atmosphere
No guy thinks to go to these things and women aren't really going to be hit on
Plus it's a certain type of woman that likes these things that I prefer i.e. quirky, eclectic personality, more open-minded etc

I agree with your suggestion on not mass approaching. Mass approaching can be done in nightlife venues, on the street/in a park (though a lot of women won't be receptive here), or possibly in a mall.

Sniper approaching is a general better method for non-bar approaching. Art festivals are non-bar approaching.

Women aren't going to fitness class to be approached and few men actually do fitness class approaches. However, most women at fitness classes are not that enthusiastic about fielding approaches after class. While most aren't rude about them, they don't seem that interested in meaningfully engaging. The fun, loose atmosphere you describe would be an atmospheric difference as compared to a fitness class, even a weekend fitness class when a typical white collar worker woman has nowhere to be in a hurry.

Hinge is no great loss the standard of women and the way the free side of the app is structured means you're going to have less than a 1% strike rate until you pay for premium which is a slippery slope

the apps are pretty much done now , useful perhaps if you are in a foreign country but domestically forget about it
