"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Hey all,

I will be leaving for Spain on the 2nd of Jan and staying there until the 23rd. I will be staying in Seville (home of the original Don Juan DeMarco :) ) It is for this study broad program through my school. Going with me on the trip will be like 12 other girls and 3 other guys. I know a couple of the girls that are going pretty well.

Do you guys have any advice for me while I'm there, in terms of gaming or otherwise. I'll be joining a gym there and lifting regularly wihle I'm there. Also, I have a couple semesters worth of Spanish. I can speak and understand it but I am nowhere near fluent. I'm just looking for advice for going abroad in general.

Thanks all

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

spain is a terrible place to go if you just want girls. nice place in general, just not where you go for high caliber girls. spanish guys are in much more demand than the girls. there is a reason why there are so many low cost flights from spain to the baltic states.

lifting? dude, spanish guys don't lift. most foreign girls are different. they are not as slutty as american/british girls. mmm, they have more class and style. remember, you won't find a&f or hollister there for a reason. that kind of marketing doesn't work. so leave the big chest at home.

seville has some great soccer if you are into it.

I was in Seville a few years ago. They really f-ing hate Americans. Or, more specifically, they hate George Bush. and the dollar is worth $hit right now so you won't be very well off.

My advice: get some anti-bush or anti-war stuff to wear and be able to speak Spanish. as an American, you will probably stand out. I certainly did, though my game was alot weaker back then. I'd be curious to know how you did.

I'm studying abroad for the semester in Mexico actually leaving tomorrow. The best advice i could give you would be to enjoy yourself, be open to meeting new people, and be open to trying new things.
