In reality a dress shirt and nice pants are fine man, people will not make assumptions about you and if they do it is just because they are jealous. For some nice cloths try:Abbott said:*Sigh*....
It was never my intention to start a flame war. Even so, I can't control the actions of others.
However, I do think there's more to people than the clothes you wear. There's the saying "The clothes make the man." I don't fully agree with that, though I think it can be a factor.
But whatever, I asked if people assume you're dressing better than your regular day-to-day if you're on a "night out on the town." This, by the way, is something I DON'T do, even though it's something I've noticed in others. I asked this question because I wonder if people are likely to make certain assumptions about me that aren't true, even though in my opinion it's hard to be any less formal without being sloppy.
When I do errands and such I don't go around town in a T-shirt and shorts. I don't even own a single T-shirt or a single pair of shorts. The most "casual" I have is short-sleeve dress shirts and jeans.
I just copied and pasted this from a previous post.theguy351 said:though people have to realize that just because you shop in a certain store, wear certain clothes...bla blah blah, doesnt make you rich...thats all apperance. Obviously you, NickBe, are succesful and i applaud you on that. But like i said, i know plenty of people, my dads best friend is 24, he has made over 2 million dollars a year since he was out of college. Whenveer i see him hes wearing like old navy or something. So....idk. Maybe its cause im Irish (heritage, were americans), and my dad is irish, we dont feel the need to be gaudy and show off. idk, my friends dad owns a liquor store and makes decent money probally like 400 grand a year....but they are so gaudy and stuff...they act like millionares, liek if you put his dad next to mine, you would think he was richer when in actuality, my dad probally made 4 times what his dad did last year. Just saying apperance is only skin deep.....but you did say that too so,.
also, just out of curiosity, what do you do?

I said several time
EXPENSIVE CLOTHS/GOOD FASHION SENSE MAKES WOMEN MORE RECEPTIVE.
HOWEVER EXPENSIVE CLOTHS/GOOD FASHION SENSE IS NOT ESSENTIAL TO GETTING WOMEN.
I do not know how I can make it any clearer
All it does is make them notice you more than they would a guy in cheap cloths and it makes the more receptive.
I never said cloths get you laid
So people like Serialized3 shut the f*ck up and read.
I never said cloths are the only important thing
I never said cloths get you the hottest women.
It is feminine to dress well? Women are the target of fashion? Men and women have been the target of fashion ever since cloths were invented. It is just that these days it is more emphasized, see if i buy a $500 shirt it is going to look similar to the $50 one in style. This is because the companies that mass produce the ****ty shirts are following fashion trends. So whenever you buy a new shirt you are being fashionable. I am just spending a lot more on my short because it is comfortable, fits better, looks better on me and women I go for appreciate it. It is the same thing as a guy with a low income buying a new shirt, I am just buying designer because of the perks.Serialized3 said:Take comments personal much? That isn't very DJ. :nono:
Anyways, my problem is that lately it seems the posters on this board have turned into a bunch of...well... women. And the ideologies they are talking about is really against the messages that this site was founded upon.
Women, not (straight) men, are the target of fashion. Women are the ones that run around worrying about their bodies and appearances.
I come on here and see people basically saying that unless you are a 6'3" white guy with an 8 pack, a million dollar income and the right car, clothes, cologne and watch, you won't get the women you want.
Those thoughts are poison, and go against all the ideas that any man through self-realization and some social coaching can get with many different types of women.
And yes, wearing thousands of dollars worth of high fashion might get some women to approach you at the vltra-high-class-bar that you go to. But that, in itself, is feminine.
But get real man. Wearing that kind of money is outside the means of most posters on this board. I think you really just like bragging on here.
NickBe. Seriously, not trying to **** on you. I'm not even arguing with you.NickBe said:Yeh min619 but it also has a lot to do with status and the women you want to go for. You will find it hard to take a sophisticated, cultured, beautiful woman home if you are no dressed in good cloths. This is not to say you cant but generally speaking high status women look at these things. They are wearing a $1000 dress so they want the guy to be wearing something good too, its not the cloths or the money its just the status that comes with these things that they look for.
