Days 6 & 7 Week 3
FVCK SH!T FVCK SH!T, NUMBER NUMBER NUMBER. Get it anyway for practice no excuses, im blowing your head of cause of the previous post which said i can if you make an excuse for the number
Yep, fair dos, i did say everyone was welcome to have a go if i choked on the number again!
Getting over this barrier of going for the number has been at the forefront of my mind these last couple of days. I'm pleased to say though that i've got over the barrier for the first time today - was walking past this noticeboard at university today, there was this bird (HB8) standing looking at something on the board, i went up, pretended to study something on the board myself for a few seconds, then asked her a question about something on the board. Turned out she left the university last year, was back visiting for the weekend, its some reunion thing this weekend. Anyway, chatted to her for a few minutes first about the reunion thing, where she was going tonight, that sort of thing, she asked me a few questions too. She was friendly but didn't seem to get my sense of humour that much, still detected decent IL though and was hearing everyone on this board going 'get the fvcking number!' so when i left, i was like, 'anyway i gotta go, can i take your number by the way?' (yep i asked not demanded, go on, slate me!). She seemed a bit unsure, she was like 'um i don't know, i've only just met you, it seems a bit weird...' , i weren't pressuring though, i was like 'ok fair dos no problem, i'll see you about, yeh?'. In any case, even though she was fit, i was more determined to ask for the number more than get the number, if you see what i mean, just cos i wanted to get over the fear.
Felt good after i'd done it, like i'd made a personal breakthrough, similar to when i went out clubbing about 3 months ago and for the first time found the balls to go approaching birds.
In terms of why i didn't actually get the number, think its maybe more difficult here in the UK with cold approaches, its not so much the done thing, birds don't wanna give out their number so readily to some random guy whos chatted to them in the street or wherever.
Also, with cold approaches, i reckon if you come across as being really confident doing them, you can come across as being a complete player. Not that thats a bad thing but you don't always want the bird knowing that.
Anyway, thats just an afterthought really, just pleased to have broken down the barrier.
I've not done enough approaches though to complete week 3 bootcamp though, as i said before, wasn't expecting to, getting back on day 1 tomorrow!
