"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

The 2 previous girls that gave me their numbers on separate nights have called me Jet Li.

These chicks were white and mexican, we were talking at the bar. I am not sure how to feel or react. How would you DJ's handle that situation?

Let's make this weird thread more so. I met the mexican chick with her friend coming into the bar as I was leaving. I told them "I'm buzzed, but let's go to the one down the street" and tossed them my keys. They followed me to my car and drove me there. Although I came with them, I was chatting to girls at the bar and coming back once in a while. Towards the end, I stayed and chatted with them and we start heavily drinking. They called a taxi home.
The next day I saw I had sent a message "Hi Lisa" Thinking to myself who the F is that?

So I followed up "I'm a silly guy, but you might be a dork. I feel like this is some kind of russian roulette. You must be an adorable heaven blessed lil cutie." Sent a picture of myself.

Lisa "Omg !!!! Hi !!!! Lol I had a great time, how u got my number"

Me "You seem like a cool person. Lets get together for drinks =)"

Lisa "I remember I was calling you jet lee, lol"

I figured to wait a couple of days and text her when and where.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Well, are you asian and do you look like Jet Li? Jet Li is a bad*ss bro you didn't get called anything negative. I personally would just laugh at it and go about my business. Small things like that aren't a big deal, unless she constantly does it. In that case she probably loves Jet Li more than you, and you should get the f out and find someone who calls you by your real name.

That's a picture of Jackie Chan by the way.

LMAO, I'm asian and I still can't tell the difference.

On topic, I don't think he is my doppelganger, but it has happened occasionally in the past. The heck, is it because the only asian people you know are Jet Li and Jackie Chan? 95% of the time I am the only asian at the bar and social circle.

Eh, whatever, live simple
