She says smoking is unattractive and she doesn't want to be dating a pothead. One of the guys I live with smokes everyday and I can't help it if I'm going to be around marijuana. He's my friend and no girl can prevent that. But she says she doesn't want to date a pothead, but I smoke about three times a week, usually twice on weekends and once during the week. I'm in college and to me it's a nice break from the heavy workloads I have; plus I work to jobs and this girl doesn't work at all so I'm basically paying for her lunches and dinners. Anyhow, what should I tell her or do? I don't want to break up with her and I don't want her to control my life. This is who I am and it helps me. Her idea of relaxing and having fun is sitting around taking 8 shots within two hours with one other friend of her's. I find that incredibly boring. I don't want our discussion to turn into some big fight either, but I need to communicate to her how I feel and I want to find a solution that works for both of us.

Some of you guys are sadly misinformed. The effects of pot are short-term at best, although smoking anything heavily might get you lung cancer in the long run. Granted, THC stays in your fat cells for a bit longer, but after you quit toking for a week or so (wake and baker) you'll be just as clear headed as everybody else (which isn't saying much these days.) The only way it's bad is if it interferes with getting a good job.

Find a chick who's cool with it. I can't stand *****es who preach against the evils of marijuana and then go out and get sh!t faced drunk that night. Plus nothing beats smokin' with your girl (it's a great aphrodisiac.)

And was the post about joining narcotics anonymous for real? Pot isn't even chemically addictive. If you can quit caffeine or donuts, you'll have no trouble quitting bud.

If she has a problem with it, tell her to piss off. Marijuana can be really enjoyable and if it's not being detrimental to your life or you're not dependent on it, go nuts. Alcohol is worse.

Some girls love to smoke and to some it's a deal breaker and they hate it. All I know is for the one's that like to smoke it gets them extremely horny so I try and keep it handy.
