Just imagine that if the roles were reversed and he was asking her for $25.

The perception would be he needs to get off his lazy ass and find a job so that he can make his own way in life. Yet because this is a young girl, she's just a damsel in distress and somebody needs to help her out. What a f****** double standard.

OP I strongly suggest you elevate your taste in women and move on from this chick.

I actually think that asking someone for something is a power thing and that as a man he should have the respect for himself to not lose his power for the sake of 25 dollars, even if it is only social power, while as a woman she won't lose the respect from the man and therefore doesn't lose power.

Also, double standards are a perfectly normal thing as you cannot hold the same standard to women as you can men, in some regards. Standards are set by people as a way of maintaining social order. If you want the order to be that women should behave the same as men in all social aspects, then complaining about double standards is right. But if you expect females to act like ladies then you need to give them a different set of social rules.
