"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

I am a senior in high school. I am very active in Musical Theatre at my school and I have a question about a girl who is also in the theatre. She has a boyfriend and they have been together for about three years. With that said I will begin with my situation

I have know her for about 7 years, and we have always been pretty close friends. We both have plans about going to college and persuing theatre in N.Y after graduation from college. We just did Little Shop of Horrors at my school and we played the leads opposite of each other. After one of our big songs, there is this long kiss that we had to do. The kiss took place in the second act and during intermission every night she came up to me and wanted to rehearse the kiss. She said that she wanted to rehearse it just for "good luck". We have three classes throughout the day together and during passing time we are always together. Today for instance we were standing with a group of friends and she was paying more attention to me than she was of her boyfriend. Also in choir she always comes to me and leans on me while we are singing.

I am in a show right now so I have to miss my prom, and when I told her that , she was really upset. Everytime someone mentions prom she makes a comment about me missing it, and how sad she is that I am not going. Yesterday in her car we were talking about her relationship and she said she didn't know how she felt about her boyfriend and that she would probably break up with him because she does not like the idea of a long distance relationship.

I have a big crush on her, and I was wondering if you think she has feelings for me. I dont think I am in that "friend zone", and I feel that if she didn't have a current boyfriend, we would be going out. She used to have a crush on me in middle school, and everyone comments on how cute we are when we are together. I am sorry that this is such a long post and I was just wondering what you guys think. Thanks in advance.

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Tough situation, she is sending you some IOI's, but in all fairness, you have known her for so long, which means that physically she is comfortable with you. Honestly I would say it is better to keep her as a friend, but if you wanted to get her the best way would be to wait until her and her boyfriend break up, and then invite her over and make her a nice meal and watch a movie and try to get something physical happening. Tough read man, feel it out for a short while longer.

She likes you, period. No girl wants to "rehearse" a kiss for "good luck". It's just an excuse for her not to seem like a slut. In any case, she has a boyfriend right now, so if you are honorable, you can't interfere. The best you can hope for is to create more tension between the two of you. Have fun with her, and keep things a bit risque. Wait until she breaks up with her boyfriend, but don't jump in for a quick rebound. All in all, take your time, but when the moment is right, go for it.

Yea if she wanted to rehearse a kiss then she definatly likes you, but be careful, as some girls (especially ones with boyfriends) love leading guys on like that. Then again you have known her for 7 years, so i seriously doubt that that is the case.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

Thanks alot guys. That makes me feel a little better about the situation. I dont think she is just leading me on because she does not act like this infront of other people. I'll wait it out and tell you guys what happens. If you are interested that is.

I also forgot to mention that when we first practiced the kiss she told me that it was better than her first kiss with her boyfriend.

haha that a boy, shes sending you some major IOIs my friend. All you have to do in my opinion is keep up your game, don't slip up, and wait for the break up so you can be there to catch her. If you want to speed the process up a bit, you can talk to her about her relationship and why she's still with her BF. Twist her words to make it sound like she doesn't want to be with him (that is of course, only if hes an ass, if not, time will do the trick)

I think she definitely likes you, go for it, use you DJ skils.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Update.

Today we had our final choir concert and before the concert we were talking like normal but after the concert all she did was give me like a soft punch on the shoulder and said Good Job. Prior to that I saw her give another guy a hug, but I think he initialized it. This was weird because she is usually more enthusiastic with me. Am I looking into this one event too much?
