"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Of all of the girls I talk to and hang out with, there is one that seems to really be my type. If I don't go out with her, then I'll feel like everything I've worked for will be for nothing. I only have four months because of college, and some of that time the other guy will still be around. I'll have to make the switch from friend to girlfriend very fast.

Her boyfriend is moving 3 states away, so that means he will be "out of sight, out of mind," hopefully, for me. If I move in, I think I'll be able to do it.

Here's what's going for me:
1) She was homecoming queen, I was prom king, so we're about equal. I was also a homecoming prince.

2) She asked me to prom last school year.

3) When we hang out its usually always something exciting, unusual, and memorable.

4) She often punches me in the butt.

5) At this past prom, I went with her group, her mom said "here comes the best one" about me, and her mom later kissed me on the face when no one was looking.

It seems that my chances could be very good. Please, someone tell me how to go about turning her from a friend to a girl-friend.

I've never had a girlfriend before and don't know how to ask one to become one. This is why I didn't ask her out before the other guy did.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

Hm

Im pretty new at this myself but if she's breaking up with him wouldn't you be goin in for a rebound chick. and If thats the case she may use you as a stepping stone to her feeling better. Then drop you because she thinks the grass is greener on the other side.. But it isn't

Think about this really hard.

You're going to be moving away in 4 months? And if she drops this guy for you, you don't think there could be another guy that could sweep her off her feet?

If you're looking to just hit it then by all means go for it. Make her you gf.

But if you want a relationship, and a long distance relationship at that. Then it's not worth the trouble.

What I would do is get in a position where you guys are comfortable. Like your arms around hers. Conversation going great, eyes meet, lean in but not all the way. She leans in, you're good to go, if she turns then sorry buddy try another girl.

DJStudent, you mean lean in for a kiss? Maybe. Is this how you ask a girl to be your girlfriend? I've asked them to dances before, but never girlfriend. If I screw up, how will I handle the embarassment?

We'd just be going to college within the same state, while the other guy would be going three states away to live. I wish I could just forget about her, but she never leaves me alone and when she's not around, I think about her. The personalities of most girls are really boring and I could not keep a conversation going with any of them.

Prom King and no girlfriends or action? Hmmm .. something tells me you're not in America.

If there is natural attraction between you, then it can happen, but if she doesn't find you the least bit attractive in any sort of way, then is very unlikely.

I danced with lots of girls and got a phone number and I think during one of those dances, I felt something that felt like a pubic bone (near the vagina). That was probably dry humping. All kinds of chicks wanted their pictures with me and stuff. The girl-who-I-like's mom kissed me on the cheek.

If I wasn't so picky I wouldn't be here. I notice my friends often get into relationships for about a few weeks or so and then quickly out because they'll take any chick who'd want them.
