"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Ok, lurked here for a minute, first post.
Will keep it quick: separated, thank f'ing god, for a few months now from a terrible woman with multiple mental issues. Have put up with a lot of bs, for sure.
Have 8 yo daughter that I'm very tight with, she's always been Daddy's Little Girl, yadda yadda yadda.
Seeing a chick fairly regularly already (She's 30, I just turned 42, so not too shabby a start.), but don't want to get tied down into anything too quickly, so definitely have my eyes open when I'm out and about.
Have historically done very well with the ladies, but have been stuck in that hellhole of a marriage for the last decade, so admittedly still a little rusty.
Have noticed twice now in the last few weeks some definite flirtyness/vibe going on with a couple of girls while I had daughter with me.
Couldn't think of a way to pull off getting the number without daughter suspicions getting raised. (I'm very sensitive to her not seeing me hit on multiple chicks as this is all still pretty new to her.)
So, what's the best move here?
Blow the chick off and shoot to re-engage later when kiddo's not with me?
Any advice to a newly back in the game guy for this situation?
TIA...

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

Yeah, you can't pick up with your daughter around. Enjoy the day with her and forget women during that period. Mack up the bıtches when you're on your own.

I don't sarge with my kid around. That time is meant for me and my child.

Also, I think things are a bit different with boys than with girls. I honestly have no problem with my boy knowing that I date a lot of women. It would be different if I had a girl, and I would likely be more hesitant to let her meet any women who pops into my life. Girls are more likely to have an emotion-filled reaction. Just ask any woman who had split parents but continued to see their dad.

Well, you could try to hit on women, just say "I'd like to meet up with you sometime" Kids are better than a puppy :)

ONLY problem with that is my son's kock blocked me all the time, even when I wasn't hitting on women :)
