I read an awesome post on Game that was linked to Colossus's signature. It is titled "What is Game". Check it out.
I was lamenting to my friends the need for Game. I was telling them how much of a burden it is to have to learn and constantly apply this skillset. I told them that its not fair and that we need to return to the pre 1970's era when game was not necessary. I told them that we need to reverse the laws that have empowered women so much that they can treat us as disposable. This is a sentiment shared by many posters on SoSuave.
My friends introduced me to a different perspective. They look at the state of affairs as a necessary consequence of liberty. They explain that if you look at all men as equal then this should apply to women. If women are equal to men, then they should be treated as men. The 2 main forces that kept women in check were lack of employment and a societal stigma against promiscuity and overt hypergamy. My friends state that this is unequal. They state the women should have full access to the workforce and full access to the sexual liberties that men enjoy (no slut stigma).
I could not disagree even though i wanted to disagree. If we are truly an equal nation, then we as men can not be pissed off when women exhibit masculine behaviors. Or exhibit behaviors that are unsatisfactory becuz these behaviors are just an unfortunate consequence of gender equality.
If we want an truly equal society then we are just going to have to put up with women becoming less feminine and adapt our game to it.
Even though the legal pendulum has swung too far towards the favoring of women, we should not return to the era of the 1960's. This was an era of exclusion from the workforce and stigma. To my friends exclusion and stigma are the opposite of liberty and equality.
