Finally talked to this girl I've seen around school for the past YEAR. I had too many "perfect" (times when she was completely alone) chances to talk to her last year, but was too nervous to take any. Then during the summer I saw her once, but STILL didn't take it (it was a brief "turn around a corner not knowing what to expect moment" but still). After that I took I was screwed, but once school started up again I saw her a couple times (none of which were "perfect" chances), maybe once or twice alone, but STILL didn't take any chances.
Today, I finally said to myself," f it. If she's alone and I don't at least talk to her I'm going to shoot myself in the foot." (It was more of a having a conversation with myself; instead of thinking 'I', I thought 'you'). I've been overthinking this for the past year; I eventually came up with a 'script' to use which I did today to minimal failure.
*Early College being a high school "program" where you earn college credits during some classes along with your high school credits. The program is NOT a school in itself, but was given a former elementary school for use until last year.
**She is a cheerleader, HB7/8 (but then again I don't really rank ANYONE a 9 or 10), pretty big backside, smallish boobs, skinny, tall, somewhat dark (as in Black)
Convo:
Me: Hey (*as she's walking away*)
Her: (*Soon hears me and walks over*) Yeah?
Me: Didn't you go to Early College last year?
Her: Yeah.
Me: (*After a very slight "silence"*) Oh yeah, you'd always be singing in the lunch room. That was funny.
Her: (*Slight laugh*) Yeah. You went there?
Me: Yeah. Your a Junior?
Her: Oh no, Senior.
Me: (*I'm a Sophomore by the way*) Oh.
As I said above, I had (by this point) memorized my half of this eventual conversation. What I had wanted to say was: "Hey, didn't you go to Early College? Yeah, I remember. You'd always be singing in the lunchroom. Your a Junior?" Not entirely different from what I ended up saying but nevertheless I find it funny how me and my sister had a conversation about memorizing stuff to say. She basically said you don't really think about what you're going to say in a conversation beforehand. You just kind of let it happen naturally. Her word of advice was,"When you try to remember things to say is when you mess up".
Which I just realized today how right she was. The funny thing is I didn't feel so nervous while talking to her. My heart wasn't racing, I wasn't sweating, etc. ANYWAY, after this long post my question is how do I get a number close the next time I talk to her? I was sorta thinking about talking to her again about how I didn't even get her name today (even though I already know it from hearing it). But there's no real conversation after that.
