"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Hey guys,

There's this girl I've known for a while and in the past (few years ago) I did everything short of sex with her a couple of times. I got a gf shortly after but would still see this girl around at parties. I didn't really know how to play it so I would show up to a lot of events and all that and dance next to her or joke around or whatever but I kept it very G-rated cause I wasn't single. She left town about a year ago and travelled a bit but always sends me a text reminding me what her new number is, and when she does come back for visits I'm one of the people she always gets in touch with to hang out. Anyway I guess I've always had a thing for her and now my gf and I are gonna split up pretty soon, I'm wondering how you guys think I should play it if she visits again. She might just be keeping in touch and hanging out with me in large groups because she's being nice and sees me as a friend, or maybe it's cause she wants to see me but knows I'm taken. It'd be cool to find out if I'm friendzoned or if she keeps me around cause she's waiting for an opportunity, but it'll be hard to figure that out if she only comes to town very briefly and wants to see everyone at once. Thoughts?

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

You can keep talking about it and wondering or you can make a move and get an answer.
