There are some things that would be easier to explain with charts and diagrams
In my profession, I teach things that coincidetally are very similar and run parallel to topics of being a DJ. As far the the subjets that I teach, I dont want to get into that, just know that I feel the information can also be helpful here. If not, I understand. I'm sure we dont want other member to be posting large nonsence pictures taking up space that is not needed, or anything unappropriate.Originally posted by Mr. Mystery

Whine on deaf ear... haha, that sucks. It just gets me worked up when I keep seeing all these questions that could all be answered with looking at one simple little illustration. So many people keep asking the same question... only in different ways, but I have this one particular illustration in mind that would answer them all. I dont know of anyone here has heard of the "BEAR cycle", but thats the one I've been having in mind.Originally posted by Milliardo_Peacecraft
Kaizen,if I were you I woudnt even bother asking them.People kept asking for a college forum but there`s none yet.
I think they should rename this forum to : Whine to a deaf ear .

Sometimes I find myself posting something that I later feel to be not appropriate. Can it be changed so that a member can delete his own posts? Also, why is the [ /img] off? can we have that turned back on? There are some things that would be easier to explain with charts and diagrams [/B][/QUOTE]
Uhh...you can delete your post. Just click on "edit" under the reply you want to get rid of. I think Allen turned the imaging off due to bandwith space.
I know how these forums work. I used to moderate forums like this a while ago. You can not delete your own posts. They have restricted that to admistration only. Yes... even your own posts where you click check in the box and click delete under editing.Originally posted by crazykid

That funny because I am studying in network administration but I never knew that image sources hosted on other servers/website could use more bandwidth on a forum.Originally posted by Paradox
Q: Why is IMG turned off?
A: For 2 reasons. Images and graphics use a lot of bandwidth. Also, Allen (Admin) Does not want users posting Porn or offensive images.
I dont post with the intention of deleting it. I have found myself posting something that was harsh and uncalled for one time, and wanted to delete to avoid conflict. As for members deleting their old posts or editing their posts that were "gems". The Admin stop this function because they want to keep it on, but I feel that it is the posters right to let it stay on the forum or not since it is his knowledge that he is sharing, and the right shoudnt belong to anyone else... but thats just my opinion. I disagree with the Admin about that, but I suppose I can understand that my opinion doesnt matter, as long as they get what they want.Originally posted by Paradox

Q: Why can't I delete my own posts?
A: Why post in the first place if you are going to delete it? This is another Admin controlled function. One of the posters (an old timer) got into an argument with another poster. Anyhow, he went back and edited/deleted all of his posts (maybe 100 or more) and left the forum. The posts he deleted were gems and would be in the DJ Bible today. I think 1 other DJ did the same thing. So Admin decided to take that away.
The "entrance exam" idea is good, but I feel it might discourage some new memebers to sign on.Originally posted by Mukester
I dont think anythings wrong with Newbies; theyre there what keep the forum stacked with new ideas.
I still reckon they should have a "newbie handle" for a bit though...some are already great at DJ'ing (judging by your posts Kaizen i think you fall into this category), however, some are very AFC, absolute beginners that have no concept of being a DJ' or a PUA (-I wasa true AFC, but i read the bible for a few months before posting...maybe some of my posts are still AFC at times** but at least i know the general concepts of the board ).
I find that we do get a lot of similar threads along the lines of "I've got her number/kissed her...what now?". Its great that we can offer advice- but the advice is always along the same lines
Hmmm...maybe an easy entrance exam based on basic principals on how to pick up chycks-or- a newbie forum where they have to make 20-30 posts before they can enter the other forums...
...maybe you all disagree with me?
Any ideas?
**Hopefully not this post!
PS: You can always re-edit your post with the edit-button on the bottom left of the window. Doesnt always load/show
up on my screen though-but is is there!
