It's not an excuse, it's a question. Or I suppose there is some crazy way I can approach her during lunch eh?
You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.
And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.
Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.
The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.
Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.
She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.
Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.
So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.
The words come later. The impression comes first.
*shakes his head* Dude... this is exactly the same as every other post you've made for the last 3 months, at the very least.MrConfidence said:It's not an excuse, it's a question. Or I suppose there is some crazy way I can approach her during lunch eh?
Well you guys are no help. What do I need your advice for though? I can always figure it out on my own. Can't be too hard.Mr_rogers said:*shakes his head* Dude... this is exactly the same as every other post you've made for the last 3 months, at the very least.
Every single time someone gives you advice, you either figure it's impossible to do what they suggest, or you endlessly question it until no one cares anymore. You already have a thread going. Don't stink this one up, too.
And you care because? I think you're actually amused by threads if you care so much that I post. Then again, maybe you just hang out here a "little" too much.mods , how come he hasnt been banned?
Yea, really? Then why are you still here asking the same questions? Because you cant do sh*t on your own.MrConfidence said:Well you guys are no help. What do I need your advice for though? I can always figure it out on my own. Can't be too hard.
Let's not get hostile guys.oakraiderz2 said:Yea, really? Then why are you still here asking the same questions? Because you cant do sh*t on your own.
Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."
You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.
She's been waiting forty minutes.
Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
Temper, temper.oakraiderz2 said:Yea, really? Then why are you still here asking the same questions? Because you cant do sh*t on your own.
I'm not making excuses for myself, I'm waiting until I can get her alone. Besides if she was going to leave I could always go for another girl, no big deal.Let's not get hostile guys.
But seriously.
You gotta stop making excuses up for yourself.
If i ever miss an opportunity to approach someone, i feel like sh*t. I get angry at myself.
It's different when the chance has gone you by. Since you still see her at school, in your mind, you see it as the chance is still there, and you have time to put it off. But if she was to leave for another school tonight, you'd be spewing tommorow.
Man, get the hell out of this person's thread. Every time you post somewhere, it turns into a ****fest. Do everyone a favour and stick to your own threads. You have no useful advice to offer, and all you do is make everyone miserable.MrConfidence said:Temper, temper.

Don't blame it on me, you just have to simply learn to ignore my post. No one's forcing you to reply, you just have a problem ignoring my post dude. Go ahead reply, you're just going to prove my point. Plus...Mr_rogers said:Man, get the hell out of this person's thread. Every time you post somewhere, it turns into a ****fest. Notice how I never asked for advice, I was just rambling. You guys have got to learn to ignore me when I do that. I'm not saying I'm not wrong to an extent, but when you guys reply to my post you've got to ask yourself "Is replying to his post going to do the topic any good?". If not, then just ignore it. It's certainly not doing this topic any good.I don't know why I'm so afraid to approach. There's a girl named Marissa who I've talked to a couple of times, but just can't seem to approach. Oh wait, I do know, I don't know how to open. Don't know if I should compliment her on her new glasses, or neg hit her or better yet say something like "Hey, I remember you from marching band!". I have got to figure out a way to break the ice with this girl, and take her off the damn pedestal. The truth is is that I'm afraid of going up to her, saying something to her, and getting rejected.
Um, so you're saying it's our fault for "not ignoring"?MrConfidence said:Don't blame it on me, you just have to simply learn to ignore my post. No one's forcing you to reply, you just have a problem ignoring my post dude. Go ahead reply, you're just going to prove my point. Plus...

That wasn't my point, retard. My point was that by rambling on in here, you're ****ing up the original topic and getting yet more attention, more time and taking up more energy, and you do it thanklessly. On top of that, you don't actually take anyone's advice. You argue with them until the entire board has to put it to you then finally relent, agreeing that the advice is good, but still not taking it.MrConfidence said:Don't blame it on me, you just have to simply learn to ignore my post. Why should we have to? Post on topic or don't post. Christ.Notice how I never asked for advice, I was just rambling. You guys have got to learn to ignore me when I do that. Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.
Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?
You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.
Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
