"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

So I work with this one chick and ask her out on a date but unfortunately the date doesn't go all that well. At the end of the night I ask her out again and she agrees. But when I call her to set up the date she asks if we could move the date to the next day because her friend is in town and she wants to hang out. I say that's ok. Before hanging up she says that she'll call me on Sat (this was on a Fri) so that we can set something up. She never called. She's very warm and huggy at work. So my question is this chick interested or am I sensing flakiness and should just move on? If she was interested she wouldn't have canceled right? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Actions speak louder than words.

Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see.

If you called her on the day of and she didn't call you back, consider it a lost cause. If I were you, I'd go talk to other women and put this one on the backburner.

Also, if a woman flakes on you, you have failed. I go with the law of least effort. Flaking is a sign of disinterest. Why would you give such a woman a second chance? I don't unless she pursues me and actually follows through. AFAIC, the only IOI (indicator of interest) is the girl actually following through on plans and wanting to see you. An interested woman will move a mountain to see you, and will not confuse you. Think about that.

Besides, the date didn't go so well. Then you asked her out again right at the end of the night? Bad move. That killed the mystery and now this woman knows she has you. She's in control. Not good.

Also, ask yourself, would she cancel out on Channing Tatum? Hell no.

Alas, if she follows through, she may be interested. If she avoids you or flakes, delete her. Simple.

Case closed.
