"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

So I've been softly hitting on this cute blonde girl for maybe 2 years and finally last week she gave me her number. She works with one of the agencies I deal with (not the married one although she also gave me her number also around the same time).

Question is, now that I have her number what do I do with it? I texted her something work related to which she thanked me and I replied 'no late night booty calls please' to which she ha ha'd and said there'd be none of them.

I'm thinking of just not calling or anything and letting her do all the leg work now I know she's interested. Same with the Tinder matches I'm getting. I'm kind of just ignoring them. What do you think?

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

2 years to get her a number and all of a sudden her interest is sky high??

Just hit her up for drinks and take it from there.

2 YEARS?? Guess I did read it right, lol. Dude...I don't know where you got your "game" from or what style you use,but I'm sure there's a QUICKER method out there somewhere that will yield faster results.

Just please say that you pursued and went out with other women in that time period, that's all I ask.

I've heard of "better late than never",but DAMMMN.

Question is, now that I have her number what do I do with it?
What? You've waited 2 YEARS for this moment, and now that it's here right in front of your face, you don't know what to do?

It's obvious to everyone here for you to call her and ask her out,but since you're here asking what to do with the number,I have a question.....

Why did you ask her for her number in the first place? What did you want it for???

I texted her something work related to which she thanked me...
So you texted her something related to work. This makes me question the context under which you got the number. I hope you didn't get it under the guise of work and are now trying to transition over to possibly dating.

That's like pretending to be a girl's friend so you can get close to her, then trying to pull the old "switcheroo" to suddenly dating.

You might wanna be careful with that. If she gave you her number thinking it was cause of work, but when in reality, you had "other plans"....that can backfire on you BIGTIME.

You can't do that. You can't just sit back with your feet propped up and expect her to do everything. It took you 2 years just to get the number....and I'm not even sure you got it cause of romantic interest on HER part to be honest. Even if you did, you're in no position to "coast" and do nothing.....you still gotta flirt, gotta generate some chemistry....gotta ask her out.

Your sit around and do nothing approach is gonna cause ANOTHER 2 years to just pass on by.

To go out with her and have sex with her.

She gave it to me during work but she gave it to me so we could organise a time to go out together.

Ok. Fair enough. I'll suggest a day sometime this week. :)

omg! so i texted her and she replied: sorry who is this?

which means either 2 things:
1) she didn't store my number and her interest is low (which is odd considering she was under no pressure to give it out), or
2) it's a sh!t test and she's testing to see how i respond.

best response?

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

I'd make a joke about her not knowing who it is. But that's strike 1. I'd keep pushing for a meetup until I get a real rejection.

But let's be honest, she doesn't have any interest at all. You took WAY too long to get her number. After your 2nd or 3rd interaction she categorized you as "friend" rather than "lover".

Just move on and ignore her. Go find new plates and work on girls that actually want to be with you.

lol. like i said - it wasn't like i was hard hitting on her. just banter really. lately i've been busting on her about us meeting and she seemed up for it. i havent been actively pursuing her as such. if i catch her on the phone i'll bust on her a bit. it's been kind of a running joke where i'll tell her to give me her number and she never gives it. this time she gave it. i didn't expect her to. its really no biggie either way. :)

in the end i just said:

lol, good one! i finish at 8 remember so pick an evening where you don't mind hanging around or where you finish at a similar time.

she'll know it's me from that. if she responds great, if she doesn't, great! :)

edit: i hope she's not reading this.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
