"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

I'm curious to see what everyone's opinions are on the following passage. A friend of mine(girl) posted this up and it is about the feminine masculine dynamic as well as the inner desires of a woman. I think there might actually be some good stuff in there. i.e. "Women long for the protection masculine strength offers."

"Fight for Her!

I don’t think men realize how important this is. Women want to be fought for by their fathers, brothers, uncles, cousins, nephews, friends, best friends, boyfriends, and husbands. You see, it’s not about being “in love” with the woman, it’s about loving her because in the end we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. I don’t think men realize how much it hurts when they don’t fight for us, don’t intercede for us, and don’t protect us. Men, women need you! We need you to step up and be what God created you to be. When a woman is in the presence of a good man, a real man, she loves being a woman. His strength allows her feminine heart to flourish. His pursuit draws out her beauty. She is at rest and can breathe and let down those walls she has up protecting herself from being hurt again. Believe me men; deep down women want to be vulnerable to you. They want to submit to you but are afraid to because of what they have experienced in their past. This is part of why women are a mystery. Most men don’t even take the time to figure why a woman is the way that she is but what these men don’t understand is all she wants is to tell him. She wants to reveal her true self to you but you have to give her the chance to trust you. Some men stare at women but don’t even see them. They don’t see their value, their worth. Women are captivating. Women are enthralling. God created us to be that way and that is why it is so exciting getting to know a woman, the real woman inside because she reveals to you this captivating, enthralling beauty.

God has equipped men in a different way from women. The essence of a man is strength. A man is meant to be the incarnation—our experience in human form—of our Warrior God. A God who comes through for us.

Who is this coming from Edom,
from Bozrah, with his garments stained crimson?
Who is this, robed in splendor,
striding forward in the garments of his strength?
“It is I, speaking in righteousness,
mighty to save.” (Isa. 63:1)

Women long to experience this from our men and from the men in our lives. To experience the strength of a man is to have him speak on our behalf. For when men abuse with words, we are pierced. Their strength has wounded us. When they are silent, we are starved. They have offered no strength; they have abandoned us. But when they speak with us, offer their words to us and on our behalf, something in our heart is able to rest.

Women long for the protection masculine strength offers. To have them shield us from physical harm, yes. But also to have them shield us from emotional harm and spiritual attack. To intercede for us in a relationship which has become harmful. We want men to do for us what we can not do for ourselves at the time. As women we long for someone strong to stand between us and the vicious assaults of our Enemy.

Strength is what the world longs to experience from a man.

Now—isn’t it obvious that I don’t mean big muscles?

Of course. A man might like to workout at the gym, but if he is only physically strong, he is a hollow man. Are we satisfied as a woman with that kind of man? On the other hand, our man might like to read or play an instrument. Does that in any way diminish the strength of his soul? Not at all. The strength of a man is first a soulish strength—a strength of heart. And yes, as he lives it out, owns it, inhabits his strength, he does become more handsome. More attractive. As a fruit of an inner reality.

So then, you can see that when I speak about the essence of a woman—her beauty—I don’t mean “the perfect figure.” The beauty of a woman is first a soulish beauty. I know—it’s a harder jump to make. We’ve lived so long under the pressure to be beautiful. But stay with the thought for a moment, b/c it will really help. The beauty of a woman is first a soulful beauty. And Yes, as we live it out, own it, inhabit our beauty, we do become more lovely. More alluring. As the poet Gerard Manley Hopkins wrote, “Self flashes off frame and face.” Our true self becomes reflected in our appearance. But it flows from the inside out.

The essence of a woman is Beauty. She is meant to be the incarnation—our experience in human form—of a Captivating God. A God who invites us.

“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the water…
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.”
(Isaiah 55:1-2)

“You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride;
you have stolen my heart
with one glance of your eyes,
with one jewel of your necklace…
You are a garden fountain,
a well of flowing water
streaming down from Lebanon.”
(Song of Songs 4:9,15)

Beauty is what the world longs to experience from a woman. We know that. Somewhere down deep, we know it to be true. Most of our shame comes from this knowing and feeling that we have failed here. So listen to this: beauty is an essence that dwells in every woman. It was given to her by God. It was given to you.

Surely you would agree that God is nothing if not beautiful.

All around us God’s creation shouts out his beauty and his goodness. The silhouette of lace on a barren tree draped with ice, the rays of sun streaming forth from a billowing cloud, the sound of a brook trickling over smooth stones, the form of a womans body, and the face of a child anticipating the arrival of the ice cream truck all speak of God’s good heart if we will have but the eyes to see. The coming of spring after a hard winter is almost to glorious for a soul to bear. God’s beauty is lavished on the world.

Beauty is powerful. Beauty may be the most powerful thing on earth. Beauty speaks. Beauty invites. Beauty nourishes. Beauty comforts. Beauty inspires. Beauty is transcendent. Beauty draws us to God. As Simone Weil wrote, “The beauty of the world is almost the only way by which we can allow God to penetrate us…Beauty captivates the senses in order to obtain permission to pass straight through to the soul…The soul’s incarnation to love beauty is the trap God most frequently uses in order to win it.”

So, please fight for us! You are our warriors! We need you more than you know to protect us, to rescue us, to love us the way God intended. Men, it only takes one of you to make a difference, one of you to be an example to the rest. I have met some of you who are real men and I have seen some of you become real men and it is one of the most amazing experiences I have had. I have also seen many of you stumble but remember that God is right there holding your hand never to let you fall because he takes delight in you, he loves you.

Come for us, we are waiting…"

thoughts?

After reading it I wanted to add: .... and WOMEN (please), be actually WORTH fighting for....

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Weird post but some good points. Talk about putting the woman on a pedestal lol.

A woman wants a man to run her emotions when they are running her. A woman wants a man to protect her in the face of clear and present dangers. Real men will do this, other men will run.

A good example: An Australian couple were out Scuba Diving 3 miles off the coast from a small island. Lurking below was a 20ft+ Great White Shark. The Shark spotted the couple and came in fast at the woman as she was in front of the man. The man quickly moved in front of the woman, just in time to be bit right in half and the whole top of half of him swallowed. This, gentlemen, is a true test of manhood. There was little or no time to make a decision, just to act. How many men would have just let the Shark eat his Wife? Too many i think.

i read the first half then skimmed to the bottom.

check out my comments on pook's post in a recent thread.

this is emotion disguised as logic. what she is saying is utterly illogical. its total fiction and fantasy.

warrior gods? wtf.

she takes a kernel of common sense (ie. men should protect their women) and then weaves layer upon layer of romanticized drama.

'oh we just want to be vulnerable' 'oh your words pierce our souls' 'oh blah blah blah'

shut the f*ck up - life IS NOT a hollywood movie for f*ck sake.

emotion can be a great wonderful thing - IN THE MOMENT. but when you use emotion to create your entire perspective on life, then you are living in a f*cking fantasy.

this friend of yours is not stupid as she obviously can write and creatively structure her thoughts. but she lacks common sense. she lacks real world understanding.

i once saw a movie with sandra bullock (forget the movie) but there was a line where she talks about love. and she defined it as her father who had a dog who got worms or maggots or something up its arse. and he sat with the dog all night and went up there and pick every one of them out. that's love.

love is when you care about someone as much as you care about yourself - heck, perhaps even more. youll pick maggots out of an old dog's ass if you love it.

what this lady is talking about is fantasy love - the type of bond that is never tested by the tediousness and bullsh*t of the real world.

she's got some Fabio romance novel idea of what men should be. she wants her prince in shinning armor.

this woman is going to miss out on a lot of the good things in life because she's chasing some fictionalized idea of what a man should be - ie. her rescuer.

moreover, her attitude once again negates man as a human being. she doesnt want a HUMAN man - a man with feelings, ambitions, struggles, etc. - she wants a PERFECT man.

what she's really saying is "MEN, be perfect for me! so that i can finally be happy. so that i can finally have everything i ever wanted. its not that hard. just be like Fabio. Men become my fantasy."

ahhhh stick a cork in it honey :)

id die a thousand deaths to protect my family and close friends.
if i had a wife she'd get the same consideration.

id say probably 75% of most men would protect their woman like that.

and when you think of it, it makes NO sense. i mean, a man might be stronger than a woman, but against a shark theres basically no difference. so why should it just be assumed that he's going to sacrifice himself to save her?

you'd think given this trait that most males have that women would show some damn respect - but most of them, like the spoiled emotional 'me me me' brats that they are don't even register this highly noble and honorable quality most men possess.

but to women's credit, most mothers would step in front of a shark to save their kids.

haha, but they wouldn't do it to save their husband! :p

at the end of the day, we men are on our own in this world and we are always going to be expected to sacrifice for others with little in return.

unless you find a high quality woman who understands the value behind what you are and do - then she will make it worth your while :)

although even she ain't going to step in front of a shark for ya. :p

ok didn't read this part. i have to change my tune a bit here. your friend might very well be an idiot :)

her 'logic' above is really really realy really x10 stupid.

life is much more ugliness than beauty. is road kill beautiful? is diarhea beautiful? is bad breath beautiful? is rotten teeth beautiful (well, we've fixed that one now a days. but before it was common). etc. those things are as much a part of gods creation as a flower or a summer breeze.

moreover, its f*cking nazi-like thinking attaching God (ie. value) to beauty. shoudl we round up all the ugly people and gas 'em?

she's basically trying to say that women are powerful and godlike because they are 'beautiful'. makes no sense at all.

anyway, i'm a big fan of God myself - but i get really annoyed when people frame God as a care bear. God, in my opinion, lets us suffer. this is a hard world meant to test a man's mettle.

the care bear cotton candy stuff comes after you die :p

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

True! Tying God into everything as the original article does, is a bit overdone. Life is what we make of it. Truth of the matter is, it is a dog eat dog world out there. Either you are Pittbull or you are wearing Milkbone underwear. Beauty in life comes from accomplishment, renewed purpose and utmost satisifaction.

When my gf broke up with me, I didn't quite let her go; I still flirted with her at school and sent her flowers on Valentine's Day. We got back together a couple weeks later, and she has said repeatedly ever since, "I love it that you would fight for me." I still don't really know the line between being an obsessed desperate stalker and 'fighting for' a girl who just dumped you, although I seem to have managed to navigate it at least once before. btw the gf is a Christian with fairly traditional values, which may make her more like the women who wrote that passage.

Here is my thought:

It's this exact kind of crap that makes me think the small voice inside me that says "leave women forever" is right.

The woman who wrote that is just a scared little girl... and I am not a pedophile.

This is the most utter piece of bullsheite I've ever seen posted on this forum... :D

Ok, if you are in a relationship and want to protect her, I think that's good. But I don't like the idea of fighting for a girl who hasn't proven herself to you, and that's what the title sounds like.

“The 22 Rules That Turned Me From Invisible to Irresistible With Women… Starting Tonight”

You can skip the expensive cars, the fancy clothes, and the endless gym selfies. Completely unnecessary.

I used to freeze the second a beautiful woman looked my way. Frustrated. Awkward. Watching other guys walk away with the girl while I stood there tongue-tied.

Then I discovered 22 simple rules that rewired my entire dating life. The anxiety vanished. Conversations flowed effortlessly. Women started chasing me for a change.

These rules trigger a woman's subconscious attraction switches. And you can start using them tonight.

I'd like to focus less on what she wrote, and more on what it says about her.

The fact that this "friend" is so religious should make you step back and decide what you're looking for in a woman. A woman who's this into God is probably not gonna f*ck you until you're married, or engaged. She might blow you if you have some upper hand, but she's not going to swallow. For the small amount of sexual gratification you'll get from such a woman, you'll have to listen to hours of this crap, get dragged to church constantly, and likely deal with boatloads of holier than thou smugness from her family. Worst of all, she'll make you feel like cr@p for constantly beating off because you have no other outlet.

No matter how hot she is, it's not worth pursuing. If I were you, I'd pursue something with more ROI.

Unfortunately, if you are so gone that you take what she says seriously enough to post on the internet, it's probably too late to save you.

I'm not pursuing this girl.. We are just really really good friends(not particularly attracted to her). She has a thing for me and tried to make things romantic between us but it didnt really work, we are just good friends as of now. I just thought what she wrote was really interesting with a lot of bold statements and would be/is proving to be interesting to analyze.

Did you read what was posted? I don't think it had anything whatsoever to do with two men fighting...

Hmm, "fighting for women" in the sense of being aggressive, being the aggressor, is good. Protecting someone you are in a relationship with also seems reasonable. Being "nice" to a woman who is undeserving, however, doesn't really qualify as fighting. You should obviously never go out of your way to get together with a single girl that you don't know (going out of your way for one girl is essentially one-itis).

The emphasis on feminine beauty is rather wise. Too many idiot girls today neglect this aspect of feminine beauty and allow themselves to get fat and ugly.

However, the post completely ignores several other important aspects of femininity, such as submission and monogamy. The latter is probably assumed, since it's a Christian argument, but there are definitely too many domineering girls in the world, Christian and otherwise.

good post

of what she wrote i did enjoy the emphasis on feminine beauty as well... when a woman is truly being a woman in the presence of a man truly being a man, everything works, the balance is perfect, and it is just a beautiful thing.
