I'm curious to see what everyone's opinions are on the following passage. A friend of mine(girl) posted this up and it is about the feminine masculine dynamic as well as the inner desires of a woman. I think there might actually be some good stuff in there. i.e. "Women long for the protection masculine strength offers."
"Fight for Her!
I don’t think men realize how important this is. Women want to be fought for by their fathers, brothers, uncles, cousins, nephews, friends, best friends, boyfriends, and husbands. You see, it’s not about being “in love” with the woman, it’s about loving her because in the end we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. I don’t think men realize how much it hurts when they don’t fight for us, don’t intercede for us, and don’t protect us. Men, women need you! We need you to step up and be what God created you to be. When a woman is in the presence of a good man, a real man, she loves being a woman. His strength allows her feminine heart to flourish. His pursuit draws out her beauty. She is at rest and can breathe and let down those walls she has up protecting herself from being hurt again. Believe me men; deep down women want to be vulnerable to you. They want to submit to you but are afraid to because of what they have experienced in their past. This is part of why women are a mystery. Most men don’t even take the time to figure why a woman is the way that she is but what these men don’t understand is all she wants is to tell him. She wants to reveal her true self to you but you have to give her the chance to trust you. Some men stare at women but don’t even see them. They don’t see their value, their worth. Women are captivating. Women are enthralling. God created us to be that way and that is why it is so exciting getting to know a woman, the real woman inside because she reveals to you this captivating, enthralling beauty.
God has equipped men in a different way from women. The essence of a man is strength. A man is meant to be the incarnation—our experience in human form—of our Warrior God. A God who comes through for us.
Who is this coming from Edom,
from Bozrah, with his garments stained crimson?
Who is this, robed in splendor,
striding forward in the garments of his strength?
“It is I, speaking in righteousness,
mighty to save.” (Isa. 63:1)
Women long to experience this from our men and from the men in our lives. To experience the strength of a man is to have him speak on our behalf. For when men abuse with words, we are pierced. Their strength has wounded us. When they are silent, we are starved. They have offered no strength; they have abandoned us. But when they speak with us, offer their words to us and on our behalf, something in our heart is able to rest.
Women long for the protection masculine strength offers. To have them shield us from physical harm, yes. But also to have them shield us from emotional harm and spiritual attack. To intercede for us in a relationship which has become harmful. We want men to do for us what we can not do for ourselves at the time. As women we long for someone strong to stand between us and the vicious assaults of our Enemy.
Strength is what the world longs to experience from a man.
Now—isn’t it obvious that I don’t mean big muscles?
Of course. A man might like to workout at the gym, but if he is only physically strong, he is a hollow man. Are we satisfied as a woman with that kind of man? On the other hand, our man might like to read or play an instrument. Does that in any way diminish the strength of his soul? Not at all. The strength of a man is first a soulish strength—a strength of heart. And yes, as he lives it out, owns it, inhabits his strength, he does become more handsome. More attractive. As a fruit of an inner reality.
So then, you can see that when I speak about the essence of a woman—her beauty—I don’t mean “the perfect figure.” The beauty of a woman is first a soulish beauty. I know—it’s a harder jump to make. We’ve lived so long under the pressure to be beautiful. But stay with the thought for a moment, b/c it will really help. The beauty of a woman is first a soulful beauty. And Yes, as we live it out, own it, inhabit our beauty, we do become more lovely. More alluring. As the poet Gerard Manley Hopkins wrote, “Self flashes off frame and face.” Our true self becomes reflected in our appearance. But it flows from the inside out.
The essence of a woman is Beauty. She is meant to be the incarnation—our experience in human form—of a Captivating God. A God who invites us.
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the water…
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.”
(Isaiah 55:1-2)
“You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride;
you have stolen my heart
with one glance of your eyes,
with one jewel of your necklace…
You are a garden fountain,
a well of flowing water
streaming down from Lebanon.”
(Song of Songs 4:9,15)
Beauty is what the world longs to experience from a woman. We know that. Somewhere down deep, we know it to be true. Most of our shame comes from this knowing and feeling that we have failed here. So listen to this: beauty is an essence that dwells in every woman. It was given to her by God. It was given to you.
Surely you would agree that God is nothing if not beautiful.
All around us God’s creation shouts out his beauty and his goodness. The silhouette of lace on a barren tree draped with ice, the rays of sun streaming forth from a billowing cloud, the sound of a brook trickling over smooth stones, the form of a womans body, and the face of a child anticipating the arrival of the ice cream truck all speak of God’s good heart if we will have but the eyes to see. The coming of spring after a hard winter is almost to glorious for a soul to bear. God’s beauty is lavished on the world.
Beauty is powerful. Beauty may be the most powerful thing on earth. Beauty speaks. Beauty invites. Beauty nourishes. Beauty comforts. Beauty inspires. Beauty is transcendent. Beauty draws us to God. As Simone Weil wrote, “The beauty of the world is almost the only way by which we can allow God to penetrate us…Beauty captivates the senses in order to obtain permission to pass straight through to the soul…The soul’s incarnation to love beauty is the trap God most frequently uses in order to win it.”
So, please fight for us! You are our warriors! We need you more than you know to protect us, to rescue us, to love us the way God intended. Men, it only takes one of you to make a difference, one of you to be an example to the rest. I have met some of you who are real men and I have seen some of you become real men and it is one of the most amazing experiences I have had. I have also seen many of you stumble but remember that God is right there holding your hand never to let you fall because he takes delight in you, he loves you.
Come for us, we are waiting…"

After reading it I wanted to add: .... and WOMEN (please), be actually WORTH fighting for....
