im getting a tad confused on fiber. i know one absorbs water and helps your **** better (soluble?) and the other wont tell us what they do!
so whats the difference? ive noticed i need to wipe less when i get high intakes of fiber.
the only rich sources of fiber i know are oats and beans. are there any other tasty foods too, because im getting sick of oats. unless, of course, it is coated with beef.
also, beans. thats a good carb right? eat them all you want all the time, even in carb timed diets? (same with good veggies?)

vegetables are your absolute best source of fibre, you may eat these freely (don't bother counting the carbs in them).

beans are a good source of fibre but they are a carb source like oats.. not like vegetables. they do affect blood sugar/insulin (though of course not as much as starches) and should be used in controlled amounts, or as part of carb meals/days.

(think of them like fruit, in controlled amounts it is awesome but 400g of fruit/bean carbs in a day and you will be sorry..)

another source of fibre is seeds, e.g. flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds, and also most nuts. 1oz of flaxseeds has 6g fibre for example.

aim for 20-30g of fibre a day, 3+ servings of veggies and 2-3 from nuts/seeds should do it easily.

grind 'em: coffee grinder, food processor, blender, whatever you have or can get a hold of cheaply.

One tablespoon flax seeds with your rice is easy.

hmm. if you dont chew them whenthey are added in other foods, does it go straight out or does it digest?
