Looks like author Hunter S. Thompson, who's [awesome] book inspired the movie, comitted suicide yesterday (Sunday).

As a fan of the type of work he does and the genre he inspired, this sucks.

I had high hopes of doing hard drugs with mr. thompson. He will be greatly missed along with his literature. well the literature is always gonna be here.....damn it.
