I reached my 5'10" height in the year 2000 at age 17. There's been a perceptible shift in the way that women have perceived my 5'10" height.
When I was in college (2001-2005) and in my first few years after college, the majority of women still weren't dating online. This was even more true for the youngest women who comprised the majority of my interactions in the 2001-2009 time period. While 5'10" was never anything that got women excited, it wasn't as negatively regarded as it is now.
The time around 2010 is when online dating started getting more popular. The 6'0"+ height fascination started getting more obvious then. This is also when snowflake Gen Y/Millennial women started making up a bigger portion of dating market. Millennial women, especially White Millennial women, were encouraged to "Never Settle!" growing up. These snowflake Millennial women were also raised to believe that they could get whatever they wanted. Additionally, experiencing an abundance of penis online (first on dating websites, then later on dating apps) only made their attitudes worse about things.
The worst thing about this particular video is that this is an aging, overweight Hispanic woman not wanting men in the 5'9"-5'10" range.
It's more difficult in the market now as a below 6'0" man (average but not short) but it doesn't mean a total lack of success. I have a notch count that is higher than most men's notch counts despite my 5'10" height.
