How bad is fast food after a workout.

Is it considered 'dirty calories' and should I avoid it.

Or is it fine in moderation?

Had some tasty Wendy's today after my workout.

If you don't get fries, sodas, or use ketchup and mayo, cheese sauce, some FF isn't all that bad. My favorites are Taco Bell Bean Burritos, Chick Fil A grilled sandwich, Arby's Roast beef sandwiches with horsey sauce, and Jimmy John tuna sub. If you can pick out a few things like this and only eat them 1-2 meals a week, you can still have a little fast food and maintain a decent diet.

I agree that fries and soda are the devil. I gave up those completely.

I still eat fast food often; I just try to be careful about it. Lately I've been eating jalapeno doubles from McDonald's:
430 Calories
22g Protein
23g Fat
35g Carbs

They would be a lot healthier without the bun:
280 Calories
17g Protein
21g Fat
6g Carbs

Not all of it is bad, just use common sense. Kind of a stupid question.

There are many other ways to eat that are much more fulfilling with far less calories. If you really want to get lean and get the most out of your time spent working out, then cut out the fast food. Lots of empty calories.

I never eat McDonald's, etc but I do eat Taco Bell sometimes. How bad is that in comparison to the burger joints?

An interesting question in my book, I'm curious to know as well. But be wary, Speed Dawg says its "common sense".

I'm thinking that McDonald's beef causes bowel cancer, so putting jalapenos on a burger is smart, because hot peppers prevent bowel cancer. Hopefully, it's a wash.

It depends on what you were eating at Wendy's.

I would not go so far as to say ALL fast food is bad for you, as there are some vegetarian and vegan fast food places opening up in my area that provide healthy food, albeit more expensive than say a typical meal at Subway's or McDonald's, for example.
