This has always bugged me.

The familiarity principle, or the mere exposure effect, is well known in psychology. Basically the more you see/are exposed to something, the more likeable it is to you.

But contrast that to scarcity, where we're taught to give women only dollops of our attention so that they are begging for more. Something that's only the shelf for a limited time is something you feel you've got to have.

Maybe the familiarity principle has nothing to do with attraction (maybe it makes you feel "safe" to a woman as opposed to "attractive). I've always been in the camp of scarcity, where you limit your time spent with a woman, show her a good, time leave her wanting more. It also works because it screens out women and leaves only those who are really interested.

How do you reconcile these 2 principles with women?

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Familiarity breeds contempt.

Why is coal so inexpensive compared to gold, or platinum?

Because coal is every where, its still useful but not very valuable.

Change perspective/mindset. It doesn't matter how you do it as long as you don't intentionally hurt someone. The problem with scarcity is attaching your feelings in advance to an outcome that is unpredictable, and a general feeling of never having or being enough.

If you have enough and know you can make it even if you lost it all, then theres nothing to protect and you're secure in yourself. It then wouldn't bother you to make her feel safe and wanted. Your part is to not become a doormat, to do that you need to recognize a low quality woman and stay clear.

Your problem doesn't exist.
