I have found myself slipping in my exercise after doing very well in High school and college sports. In my early twenties I have began to gain weight on the same diet I was using during those active years. Also I've been reasonably successful in my love life in my teens and early twenties. Now I decided to make a big change and go on the Paleo diet with a strength training program for the last 4 months. This is what the diet looks like.

-2 eggs for breakfast with ground turkey
-sockeye salmon for lunch
-2 Jennie-0 turkey patties for dinner
snacks in between
-almonds
-baby spinach for dinner
-(this in not typical of this diet) I throw in some mozzarela sticks atleast 4 during the day
-atleast 4000ml of water per day

Exercise plan is a brisk walk/run on the treadmill at a speed of 4.0 with an incline of 10.0 every day. accompanied with strength training of two muscle groups per day 5 days a week.

the results have been 70 pounds lost in 4 months and have gone from pre-hypertension back to normal. Also I had ballooned up to 303 pounds my current weight is 233 pounds. All I can say is alot of the dangers of heart disease have changed. Who knows maybe you can give this a try? Or if any of you have similar stories feel free to share your success.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Hahaha. No, they haven't. It takes a long time for the body to clean out the mess in your arteries. But this is a solid first step and if you keep it up you will be fine. If you keep it up.

Yes, congrats on the weight loss. Your diet sounds a lot like Atkins and carb restriction. What was your carb intake like? Did you consume sugar or refined carbs at all?

Nice job on the weight loss, but I am not big on carb restriction to that level.
Body needs carbs for any type of real muscle growth. I prefer cycling them andeatimg my carbs within the 4 or 5 hours around a workout when they will be utilized best(3 hours before to 2 hours after). Remember insulin is the most anabolic hormone we have, use it to your advantage.

From experience I can tell you your muscles are flat and you are relatively weak compared to if you ate carbs...

When the body adapts to using protein as fuel, it doesn't stop at the protein you eat, it will go after the protein in your body as well...

Weight loss is good, but no need for the extreme diet...I also lost 70+ lbs over about a year and a half but I am built like a freight train now at 194 lbs

Marmel I see what your talking about the body at a catabolic state as opposed to the anabolic state. Well what can I say about my muscles, you can't really notice them with a thick layer of fat covering them. My body fat % right now is at 19%, so to really notice them I'm trying to at least get to 9% body fat. So you could say I'm at an extended cutting phase. At six month's I'm planning to throw in good carbs like steel cut oatmeal and sweet potato. And slowly take it from there/ and to make sure to keep the cardio to atleast 30 minutes of steady jogging+weight. it's a work in progress. btw 194 is a good weight but with my height I have to be atleast 170lbs.

Thank you.
Well to do any keto diet (atkins/southbeach) it does begin with a 2 week induction no sugars and a limit to 20 carbs a day. For me it was the maximum it could be, which is 3 months of 20 carbs per day and only water. Some take splenda, personally water is better for you. The carbs were mostly from mozzarela and eggs. I was very strict on it because at 303 pounds or class 3 obesity my doctor said it was necessary. Glad I did most of it without any pills(which he was recommending I do it with special diet pills) Though biblebelt one thing about this diet is that sooner or later I will throw in things here or there like a sweet potatoe for lunch. Probably steel cut oatmeal for breakfast. Just to mix it up. Still have a little bit more before I get to a healthy bmi. As for height to weight ratio, it says I'm healthy. The same goes for the body fat percentage which say I'm healthy as well.
