I have not seen women in their 20s enforce such a rule.

What I didn’t get is why hang around the guy for a month and then dump him when that month is up. Are they ever expecting to find anyone that way? This was just our first date and when she brought up the waiting a month stuff and let it slip she made the last guy wait, I knew this would be my only date with her. Just seems very common with the 30’s women crowd. This is a failing strategy for sure, I just didn’t understand why they would dump the guy after the month.

Most men are not going to run into those. I think the men that participate here are even less likely than the typical man to encounter that. You'd have to be young, a devout practitioner of a religion, and dating fellow practitioners of that religion to be in that situation.

I have a few answers for that intro... "what do you do for a living" question.

Man: What do you do for a living?
Me: I don't define myself or others in terms of their labor and I'm sure that there's more to you than that. Tell me something unique about yourself.

Woman: What do you do for a living?
Me: (giving my most serious and sincere look) I'm a pole dancer at the senior women's auxiliary. How about you?

If I'm put off by the person (no matter their gender)

Me: Oh jeeeze, I guess the next thing is that you're going to talk about the weather. Ever had a flying dream?

Well, I'd take that as a normal, subconsciously way for her to break the ice and start a conversation with a stranger. Nothing further than that.

I was with a buddy the other day and he bumped into a girl he knows. She wasn’t very attractive (to me anyways) so I just kind of stared off at what was going on around us while they chatted. He never introduced me, which was fine, because I wasn’t really wanting to meet her anyways. After they talked for about 5 mins she looks at me and goes “so what do you do?”. Not my name, she went straight for the question of sizing me up to see how much I made. I just responded “little bit of this, little bit of that” because I didn’t want her to know anything about me. I just was was taken back by how women don’t even try to hide their gold digging ways. She just assumed that I’d like her if she heard what she wanted from me ($$$) and proceed to ask more questions in order to “get to know me”. I knew where this was headed so I “pretended” to get a call and walk off from them.lol
