Think about the time when google didn't require combination of letters lower case and upper case and numbers and some special characters. This is an old, old email address! Perhaps pre 2006 or pre 2007.

Then that bot scans leaked databases and gives you hits. Back in the day, circa 2006-ish, early 2000s, people used to use one password for all their accounts. For convenience.
So what did his password tell us? He didn't take his security seriously. Ehh, we not doing anything illegal here. Who cares. Kind of like that.

His passwords got leaked 2023 with Breached.vc, 170GB or 5 billion lines. After removal of duplicates only 770 lines remained, all emails and passwords. Then also in 2023 Clouddata, May 18, 2023 to be exact, 338GB or 11 billion lines, after removing duplicates only 2 billion lines remained.
The earliest leak was from Kickstarter in February 2014. 5.2 million unique emails and names plus hashes of SHA1 passwords with salt. Back in 2014 his password was known and looked like this: ff53958780c4d77e61e6031c1ed50e5a994eb139 :: nQCUEJJA00vwp8C49NP
Crazy conspiracy theories aside, I don't think any of that played a role here, he just had a bad password, didn't take his security seriously, was way too relaxed with his security, and fell victim to a random hacker data breach.
