Master Don Juan
I’ve seen some of my sister’s friends change dramatically over the years.
Let’s assume they all started from a similar place: women now in their early 30s, who have been in LTR's with their high school sweethearts, for 10 to 15 years. Some of these women have followed a more “traditional” path: they got married, had children, and are now going through the typical wedding and family milestones. The rest have split into two distinct groups:
- The first group has broken up with their high school boyfriends and are now fully immersed in their careers.
- The second group is still with their high school partners, but they live apart and are also pursuing ambitious careers.
In the latter case, many of these women cheat on their partners, but still remain in the relationship with their "hometown guy."
Now, I believe even the women who followed the "traditional" route can change, easily. All it takes is a spark, a push into the social circles of those other women, the ones who travel, attend events, chase new experiences. It’s an adrenaline rush, a lifestyle that makes it almost impossible to stay still.
All this to say: environment plays a massive role in shaping a woman's (human) behavior.
Depending on her social circle, and the people she regularly interacts with, a woman can shift from a stable, grounded person to someone completely different in just a matter of months.
The same lesson applies to us men: we need to consciously shape our friendships and build social circles aligned with the life we want. If you want a life filled with bars, events, and constant movement, join those circles. But if you’re aiming for a life focused on family, children, and stability, then you need to build and protect social circles that reflect those values.
