"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

He is in the wrong here. If he offered to host a birthday gathering for his girl and he knew her friends were coming he should expect to pay. The exception is if they are all married/in relationships and bringing their men with them. Don’t offer to host and not pay. I am sure his girlfriend told him ahead of time her girls were coming. Believe it or not, the ladies saying “you are the man at the table” are correct on this.

Now, IF they showed up and he had no idea any of them were coming that is different. Highly doubt that was the case with a party of that size.

EDIT: The birthday girl is not his wife? Now this is confusing. If he is a participant and not the host, it is not on him to pay. He should have respectfully declined to show up. Why is he out on a dinner party with all women? Let your girl be with her friends.

That is my take. If someone can clarify the facts.

If you host, you as the man pay. If just participating, decline and let your girl be with her friends. Either way he fvcked this up.
