Which is why I'm jealous of girls when they are young
I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.
The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.
Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.
Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.
Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?
You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.
Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
Traveling is great, it gives you a lot to talk aboutthunder_god said:Week 2 day 4: I'm feeling a lot better today, I guess it must be because I am excited about planning my trip to NYC. It at least gives me some purpose. First time doing a solo trip, but I think I really need the time away from my home to get my head back on straight. I have to admit I am pretty nervous and worried about getting my head cut off or something travelling alone to NYC.
I'm also going to go to my athletic center tomorrow and sign up for ballroom dancing. It will be a good opportunity to meet new females. I'm trying to come up with places and ideas on where to meet females in a more relaxed environment, which I tend to do a lot better in. Also have my friends birthday party tomorrow, afterwards hitting up the party at the museum. I'm kind of excited but I think I will try to go into each event being outcome independent and not expecting anything other than to have fun. Well see how it goes tomorrow.
Attraction runs on a clock.
She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.
The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."
One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.
Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.
Thanks, I'm really looking forward to it. I'm really trying to break out of my shell and get out there without having anyone chain me down like in the past. I'm deliberately choosing to stay at a hostel so that I am forced to mingle and meet people. My approaching skills still suck ass but at least I am now putting myself out there. It'll force me to practice and talk to people especially girls, if I put myself in environments where I know there are women out there. I figure eventually I will meet someone who I'm interested in and is interested in me, and/or my skills with women will improve tremendously. I'm just taking baby steps, one day at a time.beatjunkie said:Good luck thunder! NYC is always a great place to take your mind off things. Have a good time and I'm sure you will feel better thereafter!
You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.
And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.
Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.
The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.
I would love to go there one day, but I'm broke at the moment, but its definitely on my bucket list. I feel like fate wants me to go to NYC at the moment. The dates I picked to go and return, were the exact dates that 3 girls in my class chose to go, also a fellow DJ here who I have been corresponding with for several months lives there as well, so things just seem to be connected to NYC for me right now. Plus its not too far away home for me which makes travelling alone for the first time not too scary.JaegerPilot217 said:Hawaii is a great place too
That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?
She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."
She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.
I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.
Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.
Its in paperback and ebook format. You can buy it off of amazon or read it on the guys's website understandingrelationships.com.JaegerPilot217 said:Is Corey Wayne's book an e-book? Did you read it on your tablet, phone or computer?
You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.
Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.
Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.
Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.
