Emotionless girl?

I just started texting this girl and while she always responds to me, I'll say "Hey, I'm gonna go, I'll talk to you later!", and 45 mins later she'll say stuff like "Is it later yet?". The thing is, her responses are usually very vague...

Almost like when I just give up when she doesn't really respond to create a real conversation, she quickly jumps to her defense and says things like "I was going to message you today but you messaged me first, I promise!".

Any ideas/

I have a rule I've been using the last few months. If a girl is annoying to speak to, I just next her.
