Do emoticons in chats make you seem like too childish and immature? How do you guys handle this thing? Are you one who uses them a lot, here and there or almost never?

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

YES. I have never used one single emoticon (except winky ;) because I offend so many people). And I prefer the text version instead of the symbol, but it appears gay men at SS decided to force these upon users here.

Only emoticon I ever use is a a thumbs up once I confirm plans. I've actually also had a girl tell me she liked how I never said "lol" in texts.

I am guilty of using them once in a while. But I do try not to do it excessively.

I use the thinking emoji sometimes because it's funny in certain situations. I also sometimes use the one where the guy is throwing something away in the trash- like if a girl flakes I send that one.

But other than that, I don't use emotes. I rarely use those emotes anyway.

It's amazing how many women are unable to catch simple sarcasm and playful banter without a wink emoticon.

LOOOOOOOL I know, it's just hilarious, like you have to write extra rows of explaining when you could just use some emoticons LOL

Overuse? o_O Yeah. <_< kinda obnoxious. :/ Reminds me of my teens XD but I'm over that ^_^

However I have never had this happen because I never get girls numbers, and CAN'T send them emojis because homephones don't support texts.

This broad (a classmate of mine) I was texting the other day initiated a flirty conversation before asking me my career goal and I simply replied jokingly "Stripper" to which she responded "LOL yeah maybe I'll drop out of school and become a stripper too!"... I replied "you actually need to have an azz to become a stripper ;)"....

She replied "Ok." And I didn't bother replying because I sensed she was offended and an hour later she sends me another text which was a huge paragraph telling me how she has worked so hard in the gym and been through so much to get where she is today and that if I have the nerve to "body shame" her that I could go fvck myself...... The thing is she has a really nice azz which is why I made the comment to begin with...

Obviously I didn't acknowledge such a stupid emotional overreaction, and the next day she nonchalantly asks some questions about an upcoming test we have.. I just deleted her number lol

I've used it. I don't use it al the time. But say I'm saying goodbye, I'll say something like 'Peaceful out ✌✌✌'. For those who can't see that for whatever reason, it's a peace sign emoticon using a hand. It just depends on the context.

Never use exclamation points or emoticons in anything. Ever.

You're a guy. Your default position is non-chalant.
Agree with the theory.

Harder to do in reality. We've all been guilty of doing it at some stage.

I will preface this by saying that I suppose if you're a particularly serious person you should stay away from emojis, they don't really have a place in serious conversations, only if you're joking around or having fun

Do emoticons in chats make you seem like too childish and immature?
“When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” - C.S Lewis

How do you guys handle this thing? Are you one who uses them a lot, here and there or almost never?
use emojis/emoticons/smileys/whatever where they're appropriate

for example, I make a loooooooot of jokes, use a lot of sarcasm and generally say a lot of things either not meant to be taken seriously or not meant to be taken literally, as a result I use an emoji or two whenever I send something which can be easily misinterpreted,

I have totally been in situations where someone was dumb enough to misinterpret an obvious joke because I didn't use enough emojis to let them know that I wasn't really a bank robber

bullet dodged, nothing worse than a girl who can't take a joke and kills the mood by getting serious
