"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Egotism. What a subject!
How to love yourself, take care of yourself and not become a self absorbed prick in the process?
I think this is a very important subject.

I'm gonna give you guys my view on the subject and would LOVE to see yours.

I think that egotism is something that is not ABSOLUT.
You are not either an egoist or a "giver" person, I think everyperson is somewhere in the middle between the two extremes, a total self absorbed egoist bastard and a self sacrificing jesus christ.

As I see it, both ends are bad for YOU and the people around you.

If you only think of yourself, lie, steal, don't keep commitments and do absolutely what YOU need/want every second, you are gonna pay it off. Not with karma or in hell, but it's gonna come back to you on this life. And I don't think you are gonna have a happy relationships with people because you can't GIVE at all.

On the other side, if you never consider your interests, you are gonna be VERY unhappy, be a *****, get nowhere in life, etc.

I think the key here is decide in the situations which path to take and why you are taking it and be sure of yourself.

I'm gonna give you an example.
A couple of months ago my father invited me to go to a mini vacations trip to Cordoba (in Argentina, I'm from Buenos Aires).
My father had a seizure a couple of months ago, I feared for his life, so when I said "no" I couldn't stop feeling guilty about my choice, her wife got mad at me, he didn't like it.
I said no because I needed to study for college (had a test coming soon). I talked to a lot of people about what they would do. Some said "think of yourself, study hard for the test, that's gonna be good for you and in the end, you are gonna make your father happy because of your success." Other said I should go cause my father almost died some time ago and it could be our last vacation together.

What did I do? I let my guilt decide for me and I went without really wanting to.

What did I discover? You are not egoist or self - sacrificing, you sometimes act one way, others the other and you have to chose for yourself the best course of action and then don't care about what people say.

Anyway, whatcha guys think?

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

Yes, but those aren't about ego.

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

Ego was just a side tenet to what those books were truly about which was purpose, intention, integrity, the virtue of production and the human spirit. What you referring to is that characteristics of Rand's protagonist characters which she depicts as heroic which at times are confused with egotism by those that are considered "the looters."

The characters Robert Stadler and Floyd Ferris in Atlas and Ellsworth Toohey and Peter Keating in The Fountainhead are better examples of egoist; tons of bravado but zero talent other than capitalizing on the ideas of others or succumbing to weaker minds.
