Ego vs. Self-Esteem

Most men are very egocentric when it comes to their dating lives, so the answer for a lot of men would probably be no.

I came across this because I asked myself a question today...

What is the difference between self-esteem and ego?

Self - esteem : Giving up instant gratification for your long term goals. Basically self control, willpower, etc

Ego: Instant gratification, impatience, fear of rejection, porn, fear of ridicule, comfort zone, witty comebacks, anger, revenge, etc

Self-esteem is the value you place on yourself (good).

Ego is seeking validation from others. Or what value you believe others have towards you. (Bad)

A guy with good self-esteem, that gets blow-off by a chick, will have the attitude that it's her loss. I guy with an ego, will get butt hurt because he places too much value on her opinion of him.
