"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Eddie Murphy and new wife split after two weeks

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Yeah, Eddie is jumping around and that's all well and good but he has his children with his ex, he's Scary's baby's daddy, he marries another woman who just got divorced herself and then runs the relationship off into a ditch. I don't know how many flags would have been thrown on this play.

I think it's more amazing that this guy is still allowed on a movie set when in my opinion, he's never made a funny/decent film.

To the topic at hand, he's a celeb....it's what they do. When you can have anything, you tend to become slightyly detached from the real world.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

And if I were a serious actor, I'd hope people remember my best role as an animated talking donkey.

The first Shrek lost it's appeal after the first veiwing, the second was slightyly better, but ditto....and I couldn't even bring myself to see the third.

bah, you're just too young and immature to appreciate them fully

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Huh. That must've made you feel good.

Listen, if you want to have a love in with Eddie Murphy and his erm, "films", feel free, I'm not your judge. Feel free to rush to his defense with some inane tripe about Shrek (a film, that he wasn't the main character in, like me claiming that Lethal Weapon is Chris Rocks best film), just don't start getting all high and mighty.....

Hold on, isn't it the guy that picked up a tranny?!

I guess she had everything he was looking for until he discovered something missing.

Oh and the last decent flick he starred in was "Coming to America" and that was in 1988.

I am glad, simply because I felt bad for Babyface, her ex. How embarrassing that your ex wife married Eddie Murphy!!!
No sh!t. How would you feel if your chick bolted for a guy who digs chicks with d!cks?

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

And Babyface was so in love with her. They were married for 10 years, and I remember he wouldn't even have a love interest in his videos out of respect for her. No music artist does that!!!

hollywood stars play a game called "say my name, say my name."
the more you see/hear/read about them in newspapers, magazines, tv shows like hard copy the better for them, and the more money they end up making.

any hollywood relationship that ends this fast is all for us to "say their name" and "give em something to talk about" publicity stuff.
