I heard about him on the radio. I think this is an incredible example of using your mind to reframe a situation. The mind is a powerful tool.

I guess surprising only if you anticipate being bitter if you were handed a death sentence too. Me? I'd probably get mad or upset the moment I was told, maybe be peeved even a few hours afterwards. But for days, or until the day I actually died? No way! I would make the best of it, including being upbeat and positive.

I think an important lesson to be learned from this is to ask ourselves how would we lives our lives if we were told that we only had a year to live.
