first of all, i am a young man in high school new to the site. Anyway long story short, i have been dating this girl whom i love for over a year, and a few days ago she dumped me. we have been kind of drifting apart for some time, but she ended it. She said she wanted a break. i straight up told her that i am not interested in a break and that she was either my girlfriend or nobody to me. I also told her to not communicate with me in anyway EVER again, unless it was to try to be my girl again. So we haven't talked for only a few days, and today i randomly got a text from her saying she loves me and regrets sending that text. i had no idea she would cave in in this short of time, because she is very competitive and likes to act strong. I love her and will eventually take her back, but when and how should i go about it? i don't want to be so easy to get and i don't want to seem like i want her all that bad. should i text her the next day, and if so what should i say or at least how should i go about it? any help would be much appreciated. also i really want her, but im not gonna be a whipped little wuss about it, and i am prepared if things do not work out.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Fair enough.

Since she regretted it so quickly.

Just tell her that she is either staying or gone and the next time she pulls a stunt like this on you, you will hold her to her decision.

Text her whenever you want.

You did it right by stating your expectations and then walking away. No begging, no pleading, etc. Doesn't sound like your a whipped wuss to me. Take her back or don't, but on your terms. And you have the right attitude; if it works out, great. If not, that's okay too.

Eh - most importantly, you handled it well. However, I don't think it's going to last. You've been drifting apart and she panicked when she saw you were willing to walk. This spike in interest is more than likely temporary and will cool off when she has you again.

I wouldn't hop back into this. Make her fight for you and then fight some more or else you'll be back here again in no time. Atleast right now you hold the power and haven't lost your dignity. Keep this B!tch on Ice in order to maintain it.

She liked a next guys ...figured she is not compatible with him so she runs back.

Went and slept with a guy ...he either sucked or he left her hanging after ..so she ran back.

I say make an example out of her ...make her regret it and earn some more respect. Don't rub it in her face but simply make your point and leave.

I would laugh and say you lost you chance, get the next girl, adn serious ending in a text? even less reason to even consider to take her back.

but all in all, yeah you handled it pretty well

I see a rock solid foundation in the making here. Well done. Dgwizdal is right, overwhelmingly strong possibility of it falling apart again, probably sooner than later too. I'd tell her "sorry, you blew your only chance. Should have thought about it a little more carefully. Fun while it lasted", something like that, and be on my way to learning how to get really good with women as a newly single guy, but I understand that your emotions are probably very raw at the moment, and so chances are that the temptation to get back with her will be great. Either path will endow you with a great deal of knowledge.

Tell her you have to think about it and that you'll let her know in 3 to 4 days time.
