"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

ok so um anways... i kinda like this girl and i got very very and i mean VERY drunk friday night. i don't remember half of it and i checked my dialed numbers the next day and i had called this girl 4 times, starting at 2am and then every half hour till around 3:45am... so yeah, i really would like to ask her and find out what i said to her and if i said anything embarassing. now what's the best way to go about with fixing this situation? i don't want to seem wussy and needy and say i'm sorry or anything... but i'd really like to find out what i said and what she thinks.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Most probably you did do something embarassing. Best thing to do is not bother about it. If you do see this girl, you can ask her about it. Don't go calling her again to find out what you said or did.

Try not to go too far with the booze since you're pretty much aware that you're very capable of drunk dialing.

drunk dialing is funny!

I've drunk dialed a bunch of girls and when I saw them again they told me that I drunk dialed them and it was cute. I wouldn't worry about it to much but try not to make a habit out of it. It's cute once but if you do it over and over again you're going to become "that guy" and you don't need that drama.

Next time you see her just start talking to her like normal, appologize or anything just normal how do you do talk. If she brings it up (and they usually do) she'll likely think it's funny (assuming you left a clever drunk voicemail somewhere in there) then just laugh with her and let her know you got a little tipsy. She should be okay with that. If not tell her to get the stick out of her a$$ and move on.
