Dorm/college food

I'll be heading off to college this fall, and i'll be staying in a dorm. dorms do not have stoves, what will i do?

i've never had one of those college prepared meals before, any feedback on those?

or what if i buy a foreman grill?

It might be a little tougher to eat "perfectly" but it's generally possible to still eat relatively well. You just have to toy around with whatever's on hand, get whatever meat they serve without the sauce, eat more veggies and cottage cheese and stuff like that.

If you find your meals lacking in protein, you can just add protein powder. The rest should be fine.

are you sure there's no kitchen? every dorm I've ever lived in had at least one common kitchen, you just had to figure out when to avoid other people using it (or find ways to cooperate with em)

I'd advise you check the college residence rules before purchasing a Foreman grill; chances are it's illegal to have hotplates and the like in your dorm room, and you could be exposed not only to a fine, but possibly to expulsion from the dorm.

don't worry about that man! just be discrete...I have around 50 candles in my room, which I could be fined £100 each for, I have a fridge in my room, which I'm not allowed and I listen to excessively loud music - however, I get on with my tutor and I do it in moderation
