So, i led this plate on because I had a bit of oneitis going on, was feeling bad - went through this long relationship break up.

Of course when the heat got turned on by her , it was clear to her that she wanted a relationship and I wasn't ready for one, although my actions made it seem that way.

So today I called her, and told her I didn't want a relationship, I just wanted to chill and do whatever.

It sucked. I feel like I betrayed someone even though I hardly knew her.

I was not upfront and honest from the beginning. This is like the ****tiest mistake you can make. Regardless if its just a plate or not.

Had to hit the eject button.
 

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

I don't see what you're beating yourself up about?

You were honest.

And to be quite frank, she probably doesn't even care. She will just move on to option #2.

Yeah, but my actions and what I said were completely different.

It was a **** move.

Honesty upfront is the way to go - should of payed more attention to the DJ bible.
